Arrietty - Coffee Shop & Retail Space — Restaurant in Exeter

Whilst the coffee was good, it was disappointing to be charged full price for two single shot drinks when explicitly insisting I would use whatever is left of the first drink's milk, for the second.

As a barista, I would not charge full price for two drinks that share one shot, and unless you measure your milk usage to the last millimeter, there will be a surplus, of which I was asking for, to go towards my drink with the second espresso. The only additional cost is the cup and lid.

Whilst I understand many drinks must be sold to keep a business and its utilities afloat, I would appreciate some consideration towards what people are asking for, and price accordingly to encourage repeat business and loyalty. I would expect to pay full price for a single shot flat white, but to use what is left over from the espresso and the milk, what is it about the second drink I'm paying...

It was such a joy to visit Arrietty with my daughter, a magical place that truly deserve a golden star for so many reasons! We went in by chance for an afternoon tea, Alan, the chef, brought over the fine selection of delicious and utterly irresistible food, which was such a nice touch. Such a personalised service and a chance to meet him, something lost in today’s times. The Manager and all the staff that works there are genuinely kind, with a positive attitude and so friendly! It almost feels like you’ve been welcomed by a family member. The place has been beautifully decorated. My husband ordered a pain au chocolat and said it was the best he ever had! And he is fussy about pastries. The chocolate cream inside is particularly fabulous. The coffee is excellent too. I always stop by here for my coffee. It’s a family run place which also turns into a wine bar in the latter part of the week. It’s light spacious and they are happy for people to bring a laptop and work at the big tables. A little...
