āļøāļøāļøāļøāļø Last night my partner and I went to The Mad Turk in Wisbech, and honestly, I think I met God. The smell hit us in the car park like a chargrilled freight train of joy. I swear I blacked out for a second and when I came to, I was already inside with a menu in my hands. The staff were so friendly, I’m pretty sure they’d help me move house if I asked. We ordered drinks, then the full platter – because if you’re going to test your waistband’s limits, you may as well go all-in. While we waited, they brought us dips, salad, and homemade flatbread. That bread… let me tell you… if IKEA sold it, people would actually enjoy going there. Soft, warm, perfect – I briefly considered stuffing pieces into my pockets for later. Then the mains arrived. And my days. The platter looked like something Zeus himself would have eaten before throwing lightning bolts. Meat so tender it must have been massaged daily and sung lullabies. Flavours so powerful I’m convinced they could end wars if served at peace talks. I took one bite and basically transcended – I left my body, hovered above the table, and watched myself demolish the food like a man possessed. By the end, my partner and I weren’t even speaking in words anymore – just happy grunts and the occasional tear. Honestly, it was less a meal, more a spiritual awakening. If you live anywhere near Wisbech and haven’t been to The Mad Turk, what are you even doing with your life? Cancel your diet, cancel your therapist, cancel EVERYTHING. Get a table. Eat the food. Ascend.

For us is a first and a last time unfortunately, went there as a family, and the food wasn't that bad, the staff was very nice with us, we just think that the prices are a bit to spicy and the food is not that valuable for those kind of prices. Also, the food supposed to be cooked in a Greek style and have the specifically Greek taste , as they say... We had Greek style, but not the taste. After all, not that bad, but not for us. Thank you.

Walking up to the place me and my friend were greeted by a beautiful hostess at the door with big smiles and a " welcome welcome ". This was a nice way to start I must say. Inside is a very spacious modern seating area and a viable kitchen. Personal opinion but I love seeing my food being prepared. The food was amazing. The staff were amazing and the price point was bang on. I'll absolutely be going again.

Would 1000% give 0 star view if i could. No clue how this place is still up and running, my niece had worked here for several months and every single shift she comes home in floods of tears! Keeping in mind she is only 15 and has only just turned. I decided to come down and see for myself. Not only did i see a crazy lack of washing there hands but the female cook had her hair down with no hair net (her hair is short but this is not the point as I later found a hair in my food and as a women with brightly coloured hair there was no way this was mine) which i’m guessing is his wife as they stood either cuddling, shouting and screaming at the very obviously minors which are their staff or sat outside. The food was under cooked and over priced for what i got, i ordered some sort of sharer plater for about 40 pounds if not over which was meant to be between 3 people there was nearly not enough food for one! One of my big concerns is the fact my niece was constantly rushed to go outside and pour alcoholic drinks at least 20 times within the 40 mins i was there but she was also brining over alcoholic drinks to other tables and myself. This was a massive concern for me seeming they knew her age as they paid cash in hand which makes it look like it is off the books! The girls are also paid next to nothing for the work they do. When the TEEN girls wasn’t being rushed about getting and taking drinks they were taking scorching hot plates with their bare hands as what i’m assuming is the wife to one of the other cooks is slamming her hand in the bell and waving her hands about and shouting at the girls. I really did not think her tone was appropriate for anyone no matter the age! There was a Lady singing i was sat in a booth at the front upstairs with two of my other friends who were both so shocked on how these girls are treated here, the lady singing had a lovely voice but not only was the music so loud it was hard to enjoy and made you feel shaken and uncomfortable but people were getting up and dancing. There is absolutely no issue with this that was not the issue. It was the lack of space which the girls and older man waitress (not sure his name) was trying to squeeze in and out and getting knocked about! The girls were also shouted at for waiting a while to give their ordered they were so rushed to take as the place was too busy for how small it was! The man at the bar was lovely and seemed to be no issue with him but the environment is not comfortable and the atmosphere is tense and DEFINITELY not suitable for your child to work there! I would not recommend anyone working here or even eating here or popping...

If I could give 0 star I would.

Went there for my first mother’s day and that was the worse experience I could have gotten.

Waited 40 mins for bottle of water and probably about an hour for food. Food came not as described in the menu - each main should comes with salad and rice. I asked for chips and salad instead of the rice and chips, but got rice and chips. We were 4 adults, a toddler and 2 babies. We were all given one small pot of salad and they told us that once we eat it they will give us more. When I said that their menu states different, they threw 2 more salads on the table in front of me and super rudely asked me if I am happy now. They (3 men no idea who was who they didn’t introduce themselves) were shouting at us and telling us that we just been there for 10 mins and that they are experienced in the business, and we are the first unhappy customers.

We decided to take the food for home because it was nap time for the baby, and they tried to charge us for 2 750ml water bottles instead of one 330 ml one (they firstly served me a glass of water, no bottle so I guess it was tap even though I ordered bottled still water). Our friends also had things in their bill that wasn’t ordered or served. So the man started to asked us what we ordered so he can make a new bill and said that we are not in Mcdonalds so he doesn’t remember what we ordered šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

When he gave us the bill he also rudely put a water bottle on the bar and said that its free so he can makes me happy šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

I regret that we take the food and we paid that bill! When we got home we tried a bit if the food and the last went in the bin. As a ā€œdessertā€ Hubby got stomach aches. They ruined my first mother’s day and we will never visit this place again. Ridiculous and rude staff attitude and awful...
