I never leave reviews, but this was so bad I had to. I ordered the vegan breakfast which had avocado on sourdough toast, mushrooms, tomatoes, crispy potato puffs, baked beans and corn (corn was a weird addition, but I was intrigued to see - maybe it was charred, in a sauce or something yummy). Sourdough toast was rock hard and inedible, avocado was not smashed but pureed and clearly out of a tub - not very gourmet and also not very tasty. Roasted tomatos were really good. Mushrooms were a weird grey colour that put me off them - tasted ok but couldn't get passed the colour. Baked beans were mushy and an odd brown colour. The crispy potato puffs were actually just standard hash browns - I love a hash brown, but this was disappointing. And worst of all, the corn was literally steamed tin corn. No charring, no addition of flavour or even salt. Literally steamed tinned corn. The meal also came with some mixed leaf - not something I've ever had on a breakfast before. The service was polite but lackluster and slow, the coffee cold, and they were playing Vernon Kay on Radio 2 over the speakers. Considering there was only one other table in there, and other reviews are really positive, I was so shocked with this experience. Really not gourmet, or worth the £17 I spent. I wish I had taken a picture of the meal to back this...
Read moreWe took the "All Day Breakfast," and it was tragic. It came out within minutes of us having the order taken. We were surprised, but then it was obvious why when we got into it
It was a full English breakfast, including one sausage, two bacon, mushrooms, four tiny potato peanut sized hash browns, a toasted sub style white roll, grilled tomato, and a pot of watery baked beans. The bacon was way past its best. Dry as a bone... probably sat on a hot plate or under a grill or something. As said, the beans were mainly watery sauce. The hash browns were tiny, barely noticeable. And the sausage was so overcooked you couldn't even get a fork into it, let alone cut it. The breakfast cost us £15. It did not include a drink. Shocking!
Nobody came to check mid meal whether everything was alright or not, nor when we were getting up to leave. When my wife decided she needed to say something when we were going, nothing was really done to address their failings, just a "sorry," but there was no real interest in what was communicated to them.
There's nothing Gourmet about what we were seved. Zero chance that we'd return. No recommendations from us! Well,...
