YO! York Outlet — Restaurant in Fulford

I placed a food order on the digital machine and paid for it by card. Money was taken from my account but the menu was an older version to what should have been displayed and so I was, very rudely, refused any food because the meals I had selected no longer existed. I was not allowed to have an alternative meal to the same value of my order and the team leader called myself and several other customers liars! I opened my bank statement to prove I had made a payment and to request a point of sale refund but was told that the only way I could "apply" for a reimbursement was to email the company. I sent an email 4 days ago and have still not had any reply. I have had to report the incident to my bank's fraud team as it was very clear that the Yo Sushi staff member involved was aware that money was being taken from numerous customers yet he was encouraging people to continue to use the device. I ordered the Salmon Dragon Rolls that clearly show 8 individual roles all with a slice of salmon on top. What I received was 7 rolls with 6 slices of Salmon. I returned the food only to be told by the very rude server that the photo is only a guide. She went on to ague the fact good and proper but I wasn’t going to back down. Eventually she asked someone prepping food to pass her 1 more roll and two slices of salmon to make up the short fall. I thought this would have been a one off so I left it there. You can never go wrong with the food from YO! Even with the high price it was still worth while. Great food, staff were lovely and friendly, the only reason I have gave four stars was the speed of service. Took far too long for the order to be made, my wife stood with me as I placed my order, she was then able to go over to a very busy McDonald’s, order / queue, get her meal, sit down and eat it all before I got my order was ready.
