A Disappointing Experience on a Special Occasion
We came to this restaurant to celebrate our 12-year anniversary with our siblings, but unfortunately, the experience was frustrating from start to finish.
When we arrived, we asked for a table for five, but were given a table meant for four. It was clearly not suitable for five people to sit comfortably. We had to make a fuss just to get an extra table joined on, which should have been handled more thoughtfully from the outset.
From there, the customer service continued to disappoint. There was no welcome or explanation of how the ordering process worked, and we were left waiting around 10 minutes before anyone approached us. Throughout the evening, getting the attention of staff was a constant struggle—we had to keep asking for basic things like plates, and even had to prompt them to take our food order.
When the food finally arrived, it was disorganized. The staff member delivering our meals didn’t know who had ordered what, and only four dishes came out initially. The fifth person’s meal took an additional 15 minutes to arrive, by which point the rest of our food had gone cold.
Adding to the disappointment, one of the drinks served with the meal tasted sour—definitely not how it should have, and possibly off. When we raised the concern and requested a replacement, we were told we’d be charged extra. This felt unacceptable considering we had been served a drink that may not have been safe to consume.
The atmosphere made things even worse. The music was excessively loud—more like a nightclub than a restaurant. We politely asked for it to be turned down, but our request was denied. It made it nearly impossible to enjoy our meal, and some of us developed migraines from the noise. It was one of the most uncomfortable dining environments we’ve experienced.
Finally, it took 45 minutes just to receive the bill. Staff avoided eye contact and seemed disinterested in helping or resolving any of our concerns.
What should have been a special and joyful evening turned into a stressful and disappointing experience. Based on everything we encountered, we won’t be returning due to...
Read moreWe visited this restaurant based on a friend’s recommendation and had high hopes. The atmosphere was nice and the shisha staff were really friendly they were the only ones who seemed confident and made good conversation with us.
Unfortunately, the rest of the service was quite disappointing. We specifically asked the waitress when placing our order to make sure the starters and mains were spaced out. But a different waitress brought the starters, and within just two minutes, another one turned up with our main courses. It felt like no one had communicated with each other, and the service was rushed and unorganised.
When we asked for extra plates during the starters, a staff member dropped them off at the corner of the table without a word, then walked off whispering to herself it didn’t feel welcoming or professional.
We raised our concerns when the mains arrived, and at that point a more senior member of staff, possibly a manager, came over. She was lovely, really listened, and offered a discount by removing the drinks from the bill we appreciated that gesture. If it wasn’t for her, this would have been a one star review.
However, even after we were told the food would be made fresh again, it was clearly just reheated and brought back out. By then, we decided not to argue further and tried to enjoy what we could.
The starters were genuinely good. The mains tasted okay but lacked freshness. The desserts and mint tea were a nice touch. The juices, however, were room temperature with a few ice cubes not ideal on a warm day when you expect a chilled drink.
Overall, this place has potential, but the service really needs improvement. For the price you pay, you expect much better communication and a smoother dining experience. Staff training is...
Read moreI recently visited for the first time on a friend’s recommendation. Overall, I’d rate the Shisha a 6/10; I’ve definitely had better, especially in cities like Birmingham, London, and Manchester, though the ambiance here is nice for photos and aesthetics. We visited the day before Halloween, and the decorations added a fun, festive touch to the vibe. The two staff members we interacted with were friendly and provided good customer service. However, I wanted a mocktail but was told the “mocktail guy” had gone home, which was surprising—mocktails aren’t difficult to make, and it would be great if all staff were trained on this.
As for desserts, I tried the San Sebastián cheesecake, which was just okay—not something I’d come back for. My friend wanted to try the lotus milk cake, but it wasn’t available, so she went with the pistachio option instead. Unfortunately, she didn’t love it, mainly because of the rose flavor. Another thing to note: we arrived around 11:30 PM since the website states they close at 1 AM, but we were told they start cleaning up around 12:30, which felt a bit early given the advertised closing time.
Also, if you’re driving there, be aware that parking is limited in the area, so plan accordingly. Overall, I might come back for the Shisha if I’m in Leicester and looking for a spot, but I wouldn’t return specifically for...
