This place used to be a Shisha Lounge previously under a different company and management, but had a period when it has been closed and now the new owners revamped it! The cosy ambience is great, it has a good vibe to it, really cool, contemporary feel. We were on a late night in, but we could still order some drinks and a Shisha without being rushed to leave (highly appreciated). Myself and my friend had mocktails and a frozen watermelon Shisha. The kitchen was already closed so a pity we couldn’t have some food but understandable. The drinks as in what I’ve tried so far needs to be enhanced in taste and technique definitely. The hookah we have had had had a plastic extendable tube and plastic end to hold on, which contradicted the environment that has a luxury feel overall. I guess that is to do with the brands they are representing, because I could see also the elegant metal and glass, high quality hookhas by afendi being available on premises. This place could really benefit by live curated music (DJs) to enhance the overall experience, and the screens (tvs) should be used only for specific sporting events scheduled, otherwise just display either the items on the menu or something ambiental that transcends into the surroundings. The effort and investment to level up the area and create better, safer spaces has been truly noted. Bonus point the security guard at the entrance. Well done!

I visited this lounge tonight with a group of eight friends — all Black, both men and women. Our evening started well: we were seated, and our orders were taken. However, things took a very upsetting turn shortly after. A young staff member approached me and told me to remove my face cap. I politely asked why, and he simply said it was “against policy.” I asked to see the policy or any sign indicating this rule. He couldn’t show any and instead told me that if I couldn’t comply, I should leave. That was shocking. I stood up and left, and my group did the same in solidarity. He later ran after us, suddenly saying I could return with the cap on. I asked what had changed in those few minutes — no real answer. No apology, no acknowledgement of how rude and embarrassing the interaction had been. I told him exactly that — I was embarrassed and treated disrespectfully over an uncommunicated rule that wasn’t on the website, signage, or anywhere visible in the lounge. I can’t help but conclude that this was racially motivated. The way he spoke to me carried the tone of, “You should be grateful to be here.” Spending hundreds of pounds at a venue shouldn’t come with being disrespected, especially when rules are selectively enforced without transparency. If you're a person of colour, consider this a heads-up. I wouldn't wish the same experience on anyone.

From the moment I walked into Mabel Lounge, I knew I was in for something special. The atmosphere is absolutely spot-on — stylish, welcoming, and effortlessly cool, with just the right balance between lively and relaxed. Whether you’re out for drinks with friends or looking for a more intimate evening, the vibe here caters to both perfectly. The cocktails were a highlight — expertly made, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavour. I tried their signature drinks and was genuinely impressed by the creativity and quality. The bar staff clearly know their craft, and you can tell there’s pride in every pour. The service was also exceptional. Friendly, attentive, and professional without ever being overbearing. The team really made us feel looked after from start to finish. As for the music — just the right mix to keep the mood going without drowning out conversation. It really brought the whole experience together. Mabel Lounge has easily become one of my favourite spots in Leicester. If you’re looking for a premium lounge experience with top-tier drinks, excellent service, and a great atmosphere, I highly recommend giving it a visit.
