not usually a review writer unless i want to warn people about bad food but i just have to write a review of this place because i was that blown away! the venue itself is like walking into a dubai 5* restaurant, the decor is fit for royalty, beautiful chandeliers big mirrors and a classy black and gold theme going on. we was greeted by the staff who are not in your face like some restaurants just wanting to get you in and out for the next customers, the staff are relaxed and very welcoming respecting your space but maintaining attentiveness throughout. so to the food....where do i start. for starters we ordered the bbq rib, dynamite prawns and pulled baobuns. i thought i miss read when it said "rib" as in one but i kid you not, this one rib was the size of my leg infact i believe it was possibly a dinosaur rib. the flavour and that bbq sauce was absolutely exquisite! the beef just fell off the bone and was juicy succulent and the sheer size of it got some mouths drooling on the instagram believe you me! onto the dynamite prawns....as i write this my mouth is watering. they are up at the very best prawns ive had. how they maintained the crispyness of the batter whilst covered in some sort of chilli sticky sauce is just complete wizardry! the baobuns again more than one could expect! the soft bun was not dry or brittle as ive had in some places but was just perfect, accompanied by succulent pulled beef with afew added chilli slices onto it to give it some heat!. onto the mains....i ordered the fillet steak and asked for spiced chips and peppercorn sauce. i asked for my steak to just have a little show of pink in it and to say they cooked it to perfection is an understatement. a lovely knob of garlic butter just melting away ontop. you also have the option of your steak coming out on a plate or on a hot iron grill. i went with the sizzling iron grill so everything was sizzling when it arrived. infact im going to go as far as saying this was the best steak ive had in leicester and certainly up at the top compared to anywhere else. the chips as requested came with some chilli seasoning sauce on top. it was not the same they had used on the starters which just shows they have variety and dont just use the same sauces on everything but clearly understand what sauces and seasonings accompany what dishes! absolutely blown away by this place. we was that full we had no room for desert but i most definitely will save some space for that next time, we saw afew being dished out and they look very stylish. during the course of our meal the owner also took the time to great us. i have to say again how welcoming and engaging he was, You can clearly tell he is passionate about his restaurant and the food that is served and for him to engage with his customers certainly is a testament to the level of service he wishes to delivery and my god did he deliver!. an absolute 5 star rating this place needs to be definitely...

Exquisite -

Went to Steak and Lounge for date night with my wife who is a vegetarian. We somewhat struggle to find somewhere that caters for both our diets, but refreshingly this place does. We walked into the entrance and instantly we were greeted warmly by one of the staff. Entered the restaurant and we were amazed by the beautiful decor and attention to detail in regards to the incredible set up along with the view from the restaurant whilst dining, looking across the city skyline. We were escorted to our seats and were not rushed by the staff to place our order. The owner Faz who was just brilliant came over to make sure our experience was a memorable one, and made some excellent recommendations. My wife went for the mushroom starter along with the vegetarian burger as her main. I chose the BBQ wings starter and the house special S&L burger as my main. The mushroom starter was rich and creamy, full of flavour and the vegetarian burger was of a premium quality and not something from Mcdonalds. My wife also had a smoky passion and lychee mojitos which she said was divine. My starter was cooked to perfection with the sticky sauce on the wings tantalising and the meat just coming off the bone with ease. My S&L burger had a fusion of flavours coupled with the crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside triple cooked chips. For dessert we opted for one of their in house chocolate domes which again did not disappoint. Flavoursome with the warm chocolate being poured over the dome makes it all theatrical, but the chocolate mixed with the fruits inside complements the tastes and adds to the burst of different aromas. After our meal we decided to go downstairs to the Shisha Lounge and once again the decor and effort put into the place was mesmerising. Jamal came over to give us a recommendation on the Shisha and I can honestly say that it was the best smoke I have had in a long time. The smoke was not harsh and it lasted for a very long time. All in all it was an amazing evening with quality food, deserts and Shisha all under one roof at a very reasonably price. What was an added bonus was that Faz handed me a pre-paid NCP parking ticket which made my parking literally opposite the restaurant completely free. Definitely recommend a visit to this place to anyone who wants a quality meal at a very reasonable price. Well done to the Steak & Lounge...

Decent above average place

Popped over the two of us to check it out after seeing it posted on social media

Location - in city centre in Leicester, you can park at the NCP car park next to the restaurant and they can validate your parking, so parking is free which is best of all!

Decor - Downstairs is a sheesha lounge and main restaurant is upstairs. Decor is really nicely done and looks stunning and quite posh 10/10 for decor

Food - Food is average above average nothing to complain about nor nothing to wow or praise about it is just okay. We ordered starter platter for two which consists of 3 prawns 2 wings and a huge beef rack with some salad. The portions was huge and was worried i would struggle with the mains, surprisingly it was just enough and not overfilling Prawns was delicious Wings was okay Rib rack was average not much flavour so bit dissapointed but nonetheless it was ok

Mains we ordered sirloin steak and gazebo chicken both small portions but just enough to leave you not too full or not too hungry, they got it spot on with the portion sizes Chips was okay too

Drinks ordered were the mocktail with dryice that gives the smokey effect lovely drink which was more than enough (considering other places gives you little)

Service was great the gentlemen at the front desk i assume looked like the manager was lovely and friendly and accomodating excellent service

Being from out of town 100miles away i would not come here just for the meal if you want to make a day out of it and eat there that work well. But average place no complaints and no big praises.

They accept amex which is great...

Visiting Leicester for the day from Peterborough, me and my friend stopped here for some food at around 5:20pm. We were greeted with friendly staff who showed us to our table, and given a menu each. The menu was descriptive and very reasonably prices, and I ordered a starter of lamb chops. Three chops were brought out on a plate, alongside a small side salad. The lamb was juicy and pink, with a very tasty and peppery glaze to them. I tried to be civilised and use a knife and fork, and managed to get quite far before embracing my inner caveman and gnawing at the bones. The side salad was crisp and light, with a somewhat sweet dressing, and was very refreshing alongside the lamb chops. The main was a ribeye cooked as blue as they were allowed to serve, with chunky steak chips, side salad and a mushroom sauce. The steak was so tender, I hardly needed a knife. I could just pull it apart with my fork, and it was cooked to perfection. The chips were crispy and golden, with a light and fluffy inside, and the side salad was as described above. The sauce was a rich, mushroomy blend that coated the chips I poured it over, and perfectly complimented them. With my stomach full, the whole meal came to a very agreeable £26, and we were given a mint chocolate to round off the meal. The owner came over to talk to us after the meal, and he's a Peterborough lad as well. A very approachable man, and it's clear he takes a lot of pride in his restaurant. And it's easy to see why, with the quality he provides

Booked a table for three in advance as thought it would be busy (Saturday 7pm). Turned up and there were only a handful of people there so plenty of tables free. Had a nice table with a view overlooking outside and we ordered our food. It took a bit of time to arrive and we were given the option of having it served on the hotplate or sizzler. With the mocktails we were given the option of having a smoke effect added which we happily took. It was quite underwhelming and I would have liked the waiter to have mixed the two liquids together. The taste made up for the lack of smoke however. Ordered the rib eye and it was on point. Very succulent and full of flavour. Cousin ordered the fillet and it was very meaty and thick. Brother ordered T-Bone but unfortunately it was mainly bone so not very good. In terms of portion size, I would have liked it to be a little bit bigger. Compared to some of the other steakhouses, it was on the smaller side and for the price could potentially not be value for money. There is secure parking available at the NCP carpark and the ticket price is deducted from the bill which is a nice gesture. Prayer room available which is a positive. Overall it was a good experience. We went for the food which we were pleased with and would recommend steak aficionados to try the place. The steakhouse also offers a complentary cheesecake or ice-cream to help digest the steak.
