Burger Boyz - Cardiff — Restaurant in Great Britain

I’ve tried many burger places, but after all the hype from this place I felt underwhelmed tbh. I had the baconator, the portion of the smash burger was quite small, I added another patty and it still didn’t really touch the sides and I’m not a big eater, for that reason I felt it wasn’t worth the money. My patty was also slightly under seasoned. I requested a side salad instead of chips but pretty much got laughed at for asking, not everyone wants a plate of fries! I did try a few of my husbands peri salted fries, and they were definitely the star, nice golden and hot a little spice and nice and crispy. The service was ok, staff were polite, but the food took longer than expected seeing as when we arrived it was quiet just a few tables outside one table inside was finishing up. As we waited for food it got super busy inside the restaurant, a bit too busy for us wouldn’t recommend eating in probably better to take out or sit outside. Was it nice yes! But overall pretty mediocre, had nicer burgers, doubt we will...

I had high hopes for this place however up on walking in it was chaos. No one approached to seat us so we just stood around wondering do we sit at any table or do we wait to get seated. Staff walked straight past us serving food to those seating with no acknowledgement what so ever. The tables which were free had reserved on them. You can not reserve tables for party's under 4. We were a group of 3...without any direction we just sat at a table and went to order as we returned the table had other people sat at it who had gone to order before we did so again we were standing around we did eventually manage to find a table and one of us went to order so not to lose our seat. The experience totally ruined what should have been a decent meal.

Portion sizes and the burgers are small even with an extra patty which is disappointing considering the price and fries and sauses are not included they are at an additional cost so you end up paying A LOT for a burger fries sauce...

The burgers are next level — we tried the Baconator/ Angry chuck and it was perfectly cooked, juicy, and full of flavour. The crispy onions and chilli jam sauce took it to the next level, and the bun held everything together without getting soggy.

The fries were golden and crispy, and the sauce Selection was immaculate. The vibe inside is really fun too, with great music and a laid-back feel.

Service was friendly, and even though it was busy, the food came out hot and fresh. Prices are fair for the quality — you’re getting a proper meal, not just fast food.

Definitely recommend if you’re into burgers done right....
