Clive Arms — Restaurant in Wales

We have used this pub for over many years as it had a great atmosphere and you would always bump into someone you would know. We visited on Saturday 19/02/22 in the evening there was a fair amount of customers in which was great to see. The staff are friendly and we’re ensuring customers were getting served quickly which was really good.

The Guinness was not the best it had a sharp taste to it. Then they had a disco type thing going on which was so LOUD a lot of people started to leave I asked if this could be turned down slightly and the reply from the barmaid was “ I wish it could be love but we been told no” I am sure it was above the health and safety noise levels no one could hear themselves speak what a shame.

The gents toilets were dirty and one of the cubicle doors was hanging of its frame. The standards sadly have slipped quite a bit since our last visit.

Poor covid controls, sign advising to wait in small foyer, not acknowledged, so entered premises through double doors after a reasonable wait. A disinterested person asked if i had made a booking, i said no, i was just passing and i wanted a pint in the beer garden. No track and trace in evidence. I was not asked for id, or any details whatsoever. I asked if i could pay by card and was directed to the bar where i paid, but my drink was delivered to my table on a tray. Folks who were obviously regular customers and knew staff by name, stood right behind me and barged past, no real hand sanitiser points, no 2 metre queue management, i quickly finished my...

Great atmosphere with large beer garden to the side and back of pub. Good mix of ages drink there.

They could however utilise the top bar to serve in busier periods as there is congestion at the bottom bar making passing a little awkward.

Gents toilets still in poor condition and the double door for the toilet wedged open which means people sitting opposite at tables can see the back of you using the urinals.
