THEY HATE THE DISABLED HERE!!! My boyfriend & I wanted to take his 88 year old mother who has to use a mobility scooter to be able to get out & about to Llanddudno for the day. We noticed that Culture Café had wide disability doors & easy access to get inside. This will be perfect, we thought. Once inside, we we bitterly disappointed. The table’s & floor were a mess & dirty. We were soon met by a young woman who loudly announced that we had to leave as mobility scooters were NOT allowed in there due to Health & Safety & fire regulations. People started to stare and look over at us. Horrified & shocked we then had to leave, for the young woman to persistently go on to say that 1 of the 2 doors was a fire door (which was locked, so no good in a fire). The young woman carried on by saying the government website states that they can’t have mobility scooters in any cafe or restaurant. Not happy with making a disabled 88 year old lady & her family feel embarrassed, singled out & targeted. The young woman finished her rant, as we were walking out, she said “you won’t find anywhere in Llandudno that will allow mobility scooters & there are non with disabled toilets”. There was no signage in or outside to advertise that No mobility scooters or the disabled are not welcome, at the Culture Café. Is this really how the Llandudno/North Wales tourist board wants their visitors to be treated?? Or is this the feelings/opinion of a small/narrow minded intolerant owner who has zero empathy or consideration for this section of society?? At this point, it would’ve been very easy for us to get into the car and leave Llandudno behind. However, we noticed that Fortes a few doors down, where there were 3-4 mobility scooters. In contrast, the team at Fortes were BRILLIANT, welcoming, kind, considerate. They welcomed us with open arms and the food was lovely. The disabled toilets were clean and on the same level as the restaurant. The decor & cleanliness were the gold standard. Fortes is a real asset to Llandudno.

If I could give this place Zero Stars I would, we paid a visit here today firstly the Coffee Machine was broken and no Coffee arrived after we were told it would be brought over to us when ready and so we had to go back to the Counter and remind the waitress that we were waiting for the Coffee the spoons for all the drinks were all dipped into a "Milky Water" once used to stir other brewed drinks, overlooking this we then ordered and paid for Chicken and Chips for our Lunch, whilst waiting my friend paid a visit to the Ladies, when she came back she said it was up two flights of stairs and not very clean. Then our Lunch came. My Chicken was dark and dry, hers was very pink underneath near the bone and she did not feel safe to eat it. So as not to cause any embarrassment to the staff she caught they eye of our waitress who came over and my friend explained that she could not eat the chicken and we asked her to take both lunches away. We did not ask for a refund or get upset or anything like that but the girl offered a refund to us. Then a second waitress came over and was more than EXTREMELY RUDE to us. She said there was not going to be any refund for the food and that the Chef had inspected the food and it was perfectly OK to eat and that they had taken photos of it just in case we wanted to complain to the Heath and Hygiene department. We then said to her, it was Pink near to the bone and she indicated that we didn't know what we were talking about and was getting very angry with us talking over us whilst she was clearing the table behind us. At 68 and 66 and both if us having completed a Food Health and Hygiene courses for the food industry I think we know when food is safe or not. So NO we will not be frequenting this place again and will now warn others not to eat at this establishment either

I did not even want to rate this cafe 1 star I rate it 0 star! Where do I even start. Came to Llandudno for a day trip and was looking for some where decent to eat . We was originally going to the Wetherspoons but we changed our minds as we wanted some thing new and different. We wish we just stuck to the Wetherspoons and that’s saying something! This place is OUTRAGEOUSLY SHOCKING AND THE PRICES ARE EXTORTIONATE for poor quality food. The cake we ordered was hard and steal the panini was literally just a HARD baguette with the tiniest bit of cheese with just loads of onion. The chips was hard and crispy and tasted like they had been cooked in old oil. The hot chocolate I ordered tasted strong and I could still see the chocolate powder in my drink. I ordered a garlic pizza AND IT WAS DISGUSTING OVER COOKED and burnt at the ends my child refused to eat it when approaching the manger to talk about our concerns she had a attitude looked at the garlic bread and said that’s how we cook it and refused us a refund. I have been to Italian restaurants and that’s definitely not how they serve there garlic bread! I can not believe we paid £45 for poor quality food tiny tiny amount of cheese on the panini that which came out as baguette. You get better food at a back street shop! After looking at he reviews it seems a lot of people felt the same way as we did. I am going to take this cafe to FOOD STANDARD ANCENY For consumer issues like unfair pricing, fake products, or misleading descriptions. PLEASE AVOIDE AVOIDE

For context, We visited here after 6pm, tables were mostly filled outside, and there were just a few tables inside that had customers seated, so not overly busy we chose to sit inside. I have never visited somewhere with such disrespect towards disabled people. There are the accessibility stickers on the doorway of this place, you would assume they are accommodating for our disabled community. I visited with my mum for us to grab a bite to eat and a drink, and mentioned to one of the members of staff we are just going to use the toilet first then order which she said okay. My mum is disabled and using a scooter. It is a small class 2 and there is more than adequate space for wheelchairs and class 2 scooters in this place. The girl who we mentioned was going to use the toilet first, we asked if she could just keep an eye on the scooter and we pushed a table along slightly to allow it to be left in a space that was suitable and not obstructing and she said that it is okay. Before I could even help my mum out of the scooter, another member of staff came out from the back saying that my mum cannot have the scooter in the cafe, and when asked the reason why, their first response was because it is not a wheelchair. I have made a blunt remark that this is discriminatory towards my mum, which according to the staff it is not. Both are mobility aids. The next excuse was the insurance apparently says that it is a hazard and it is not covered but could not fully describe the hazard or why it is not covered exactly, but it is acceptable for a wheelchair to be in there. I also asked about an electric wheelchair if they are not allowed, and the member of staff who came out from the back has said she has never seen them before so I am assuming they are not allowed too (there's a lot of members of the public passing outside and during our visit to Llandudno I've counted at least 24 electric wheelchairs, and countless push wheelchairs and scooters within two hours so I do not know how they have not seen them before). They got the manager on the phone for me, who reiterated the same excuse of it going against their insurance, but could not give me exact details. I did hang up on the manager as I was getting irate due to seeing how they were making my mum feel. I have also compared this in a way for the staff to understand what they are saying and how it was discriminating towards someone using disability/mobility aids when they are saying they are accessible. Sadly it did not get through. I can understand basic risk assessments as this is something applied practically everywhere, but I cannot understand their lack of empathy. It was not obstructing. I have since spoken to the appropriate channels with regards to liability insurances and policies and so far I am yet to come across a policy that does not allow scooters or any mobility aids in the premises as such when they have made their premises accessible. Public liability insurance covers claims made for incidents such as accidental injury or damage to the property, there was no injury or damage at all. I have since tried to contact the business to request a copy of their liability insurance where it explicitly states that scooters are not allowed on the premises, I have also left a voicemail to their number and so far no response. I have also since seen terrible 1 star reviews for this place on Trip Advisor, Google, Yell, etc all of which seem to be holding bad reviews. I have also found on social media similar comments on public groups about disabled customers not feeling welcome, some being in a push wheelchair, which apparently is fine to use in there according to staff. Seems like we dodged a bullet at the cost of public humiliation towards my mother. On our next visit, this place will be avoided at all costs. If the manager or owner sees this, I would love for you to contact me so I can settle my...

I ordered two pots of tea and a fruit shoot came to £5. I was given one pot to share between two of us, perplexed I asked for another pot and was given just boiled water in a pot. I asked how long food was they said about one hour so I polite declined on food. My partner was waiting for fish & chips in the next door chip shop so I decided to sit with my 65 year old mum in law and 6 year old daughter whilst he got fish n chips and enjoy our cup of tea outside.

The tables are outside at the moment due to covid19.

This is during covid19 also unfortunately the cups were dirty still with brown stains so I had to use wipes I had at the time to clean them. I asked a staff member whom was clearing tables what time they close and they told me 8pm. I asked if we was ok to eat n drink still on outside tables, they said we were. Our fish & chip order was ready and although this wasn't part of the cafe we were as I thought ok to eat them there whilst enjoying a cuppa tea from the cafe. My daughter wanted ice cream and we needed a soft drink so I went back into the cafe and bought them, it came to £4.50. I re asked another staff member if we were still ok to sit outside and eat & drink fish n chips n cuppa tea she said we was, but they were closing soon, I said another staff member said 8pm it was now 6.30pm she said oh because no big custom for over hour we are closing earlier, . As I walked out the ‘big boss’ was in there discussing things with other staff members I then over heard him say and calling and pointing to my elderly mum in law and partner to other staff, ‘look at them cheeky b* eating fish & chips !’ I walked out annoyed upset but trying to shrug the comment off. I settled down with the new drink & ice cream tub. Then 1 minute later the lady who served me 2nd time came out and told us we couldn't eat the fish & chips here her ‘boss’ has told us to move. I informed her I had made purchases from the cafe itself so weren't being rude using the seating area and she had told me it was ok to sit there with both fish n chips & cuppas tea, ice cream and soft drinks but she told us no.

My partner was v disgruntled he finished off his meal, but me and mum in law closed our trays and prepared to move. Seconds later the boss came out aggressively and in a deep tone ‘ use have been told once not to eat here so move.’ I tried to reason with him and explain I’d made purchases from the cafe itself but he wasn't interested. My partner explained he doesn’t appreciate being called a cheeky b** which the boss denied saying, until I told him I just heard you !!!!! So he is a liar!!! He mumbled other things but by this time I had enough.. we got our things together and moved on.

I don’t appreciate his tone attitude, you told one thing from staff then another from him. I felt sorry for the staff at the time as they were all polite apart from him. They all seemed run raggered too. I will never drink, visit or recommend this cafe again for this poor treatment of...

Family day out to Llandudno I made the mistake of saying "let's just go here to eat" the family trusted my judgement and we sat down to what would be a top contender for Gordon Ramseys Kitchen Nightmares.

Service - 2 out of 10 Young staff members awful attitude - told them my son doesn't like beans and asked if we could swap the beams for gravy and she said no that is an add on and wantwd to charge m3 for the beans we werent going to be keeping. The older lady was nice but the younger staff had awful attitudes. Service was poor - 50 minute wait for our small order. Had to chase for cutlery, for salt and pepper.

Price - 1 out of 10 £5+ for a tea or coffee, £15 for 6 inch pizza, £13 for a half baguette with measley toppings, £13 for a jacket potato.

Paid £64.90 for 2 tiny pizzas, 1 kids meal, 1 pathetic panini - 1 bottle of water, 2 soft drinks, 1 mini fruit shoot.

Wouldn't of minded if it was decent quality food but could get better value for money in London and Manchester

Quality - 1 out of 10 Most of the food was not fresh at all, was all frozen and pre prepared. Put tinned, fried mushrooms onto my pizza, peperoni didn't even taste like peperoni. Buy the cheapest ingredients, charge the highest price.

Variety - 3 out of 10 Limited variety - all I could hear was staff saying no we don't have this today - No drinks available for kids other than fruit shoots.

Venue - 6 out of 10 Nice spot which drawn us in due to the outside seating area - Poor quality furniture, needs a face lift. Toilets are a nightmare and kept behind a buzzer door where you need to wait 15 minutes to get a staff members attention to buzz the door for you. Not disabled friendly.

Would I eat here again? Never

Would I recommend it? Not to my worst enemy

To summarise - Worst food venue I've ate at. We were ripped off by some rude and unmotivated staff who have no pride in what they do or desire to create a positive customer experience. Change the name as the culture there was toxic. Actually take some pride in what you do. Get a better chef, spend some of the massive profits on better quality and fresh ingredients and work on your recipes rather than trying to treat it like a cash cow that the owners milk for a cozy life and people will enjoy their experience...
