Very poor service. No main after nearly an hour of waiting. We booked a table for 2 between 5:45 and 19:15. In that time we only had a starter.
We arrived 10 minutes early, it was very quiet, so we were confident the service would be good and we would get to the show we were seeing in Venue Cymru with plenty of time to spare to find parking etc. We both ordered a starter and main, our drinks arrived quickly. However 10 minutes in to waiting for our starter, we were told that one of them was not available, so we chose another. 5 minutes later another staff member came to the table and asked the same thing. I said it had been sorted, he asked by who, so I pointed her out and he went to ask her, it was clear it had not been.
Once we had finished the starter, it took 30 minutes for the staff to take away our plates, we both felt like we were invisible, people arriving after us were being served their food. When they finally came to clear our table (after we signalled them to come over) we ordered a second round of drinks, when they were brought out the drinks were then taken to the wrong table and had been put on that tables bill. I then made the mistake of not asking about the food at that time because I wanted to trust the service and felt uncomfortable hassling them.
After waiting another 30 minutes there was no sign of our food and no one had checked on us. So we had to catch one of the staff members as the walked past to ask what was happening with our food. He went to ask, I could see confusion on the chefs face. We were told the food would be ready soon, our order had clearly been forgotten after 60 minutes of waiting.
We then said we could not wait any longer as we had a show to see at venue cymru at which point they said we could do it as a take away once it was ready, despite explaining we had a show to see and we would not be able to eat the food in that time. It was 19:10 (our table was booked until 19:15) when we left, having only had a starter.
This was meant to be a date night for 2 busy parents, who have not been able eat out for a long time. We went to the show absolutely starving and disappointed, it tainted the special evening it was meant to be.
I would also like to point out that all of the service staff look very unhappy, not about being there, but more like they had no support in the background.

Not long after being seated, my party heard a family complaining and very upset about her meal. The manager offered 50% off and then after further upset offered it on the house. I thought the lady was just an awkward customer until it came to my table's order. Nearly half the menu wasn't available due to no delivery that morning (our first disappointment). We did a lunch special-2 courses for under £15. We ordered dessert and waited around 50 minutes. In which time I went upstairs to the bathroom and passed an open doorway where my waitress was with another waitress having a break whilst downstairs the bartender was left to do their job in an increasingly busy restaurant. At this point the manager was not in the building either. The bartender apologised and offered us two free coffees. At this point tables either side of mine were waiting 50 minutes for their mains, lots of apologies from the bartender. When the manager returned, several tables were being offered 50% off or even their meals for free because everyone was waiting far too long. A business can't remain in profit if that keeps happening? The waitresses were not around for most of the time we were in this restaurant (nearly 3 hours). When they were present they had attitude of not wanting to wait tables and serve food. It seemed like they were boycotting someone's business which is sad. They even asked what we were waiting for, when we said dessert they literally couldn't have cared less. Needless to say, we didn't pay service charge. If the owner sees this, please keep the bartender but get new waitresses if you want biz to do well?... The food was good bit this visit wasted 3 hours of my life, I could have got back to Huddersfield...
Read moreI visited this restaurant with high expectations, but unfortunately, my experience was anything but satisfactory. The series of blunders began right from the get-go. I ordered a glass of Sauvignon blanc, only to receive Chardonnay instead. This was just the first of many disappointments to come.
After placing our food orders, we found ourselves waiting for an agonizing 30 minutes without any update. During this time, no staff member checked in on us, nor did they seem to notice the delay in our service. In fact, we watched as another table, who arrived after us, received and finished their meals before ours had even arrived.
When we finally got the staff's attention, we discovered that our order had not even been processed yet. This was incredibly frustrating and reflected poorly on the restaurant's service quality.
When the food finally arrived, we were served the Linguine Vongole, which sadly, was completely unseasoned and bland, a disappointing dish that did not live up to its reputation.
Next, a pizza was brought to our table by a waitress who casually dropped it on the edge of our table and made us reposition it to the center ourselves. To add insult to injury, we found ourselves without the appropriate cutlery to eat the pizza, having only a steak knife at our disposal.
In the end, when we asked for the bill, we complained to another waitress, and she had voided the cost of the mistaken wine from our bill. This small act of service recovery did little to compensate for the series of unfortunate events.
Overall, the experience was marred by poor service, disappointing food, and a lack of attentiveness from the staff. I do not see myself recommending this restaurant to others, and I urge potential visitors to temper their...
