We were looking for a place to have an evening meal, and found this one on Google, about 5 minutes away from the pier. What. A. Find. First of all, if you're planning on dining out in Llandudno, this is the place but BOOK in advance. We were a walk in and bless the staff for slotting us in - we arrived just before 6 and luckily they had a slot for a table until 7.15 so plenty of time for mains and dessert. Book early, it gets very busy! The menu is pretty eclectic and what I'd call high end, but there's enough regular grub to choose from with the bonus that if you feel like expanding your culinary horizons there are lots of tempting dishes! I opted for the Steak and Conwy Ale Pie with roasted carrots, creamy Mash and Broccoli, my wife chose the Loaf burger and tripled cooked chips and from the kids menu (all the major food groups for a youngster) our son had the cheeseburger and chips. The photos don't do the food justice. Yes, the food is slightly pricier than a 'chain' pub but you really do get what you pay for. It's easy for a steak pie to be made as an individual pie hameavy on pastry and light on meat. This was the complete opposite - a thick slice of a much bigger pie with a thin slice of pastry all round and HUGE chunks of tender beef surrounded by wonderfully thick gravy. It really is the best steak and ale pie I've ever had, and the lightly peppered veg and super creamy mash made it a real treat that I'll be having again! My wife's plate also cleared in record time, with a thumbs up and particular praise given to the tender beef and triple cooked chips. Our son inhaled his! We weren't planning on dessert but the mains had been so good I felt obliged to sample them and again we weren't disappointed. Our son had an ice cream sundae cookie ensemble and I went for the Bakewell tart. A fluffier, tastier Bakewell tart you will struggle to find, with raspberry coulis and vanilla custard. It's not on a main street but well attended, which makes me think this is where locals eat - a good indication as to the quality they have to serve if they want repeat customers. Well, we'll definitely be back - the staff are lovely, helpful and the chef is some kind of magician!

The Cottage Loaf, Market St, Llandudno LL30 2SR https://the-cottageloaf.co.uk/ The Cottage Loaf is built on the site of an old Bakehouse and Warehouse. When the original building was demolished some of the fixtures and fittings were used when the pub was built. The flooring and some of the timbers used were reclaimed giving the pub that old world atmosphere. Walking into the pub it’s hard to believe that the building is just over forty years old, as the attention to detail is fantastic. The pub has a wide variety of cask ales, ciders, lagers, spirits and cocktails. The staff are a delight and you are guaranteed a warm welcome. It is probably very wise to book a table if you’re thinking of eating as the restaurant is very popular with locals and visitors alike. The food served is cooked to perfection, very well presented and tastes wonderful. All in all a fantastic experience.

The Cottage Loaf was a bit of a disappointment, we were recommended this restaurant bc it was suppose to be great local fare. I will say the presentation was quite impressive, however that is where it ended. We found a table in the pub, it was quite busy. We ordered our drinks from the bar and our dinners at the table. My friend ordered a grilled chicken and feta salad and I had one with beef and sesame. However, both of our dishes were blah, no flavor at all. The waitress asked if we would like a dressing of mayonnaise but this would have been a disaster. My beef salad needed peanut or sesame oil & a soy sauce dressing. Her's needed some kind of stronger flavor like a little parmesan or anchovy paste to counter the other flavors. The bar staff was quite nice, maybe we just ordered wrong. Best of luck.

Very nice meal there, seating is an unusual arrangement as all tables sit between 2 and 10 so you usually end up on a table with other people which I found quite pleasant actually! Menu is a little hard to understand due to it being quite cramped but can't fault the food other than price as it is on the higher end of the price scale but I felt it was worth it. Drinks were very reasonable with a selection of 15 real ales when I was there along with many other beers, cider and a huge selection of gin. I'd recommend booking if you'd like a table to yourself but staff seemed very pleasant and seemed to work great together, fantastic atmosphere but it is busy. Came highly recommended from many people in Llandudno and I'd agree. Can difficult to find but it's next door to the rear of weatherspoons.

Finally managed to get a table in here on our latest Llandudno visit and wasn't disappointed. Place is simply stunning York stone paved pub Great selection of real ales Extensive range of bottle beers Spotlessly clean toilets Staff who obviously enjoy working there Two beer gardens And OMG the food, is absolutely top drawer, no wonder it's took us so long to get a table, can only describe it as the best pub food I've had, tasty, well presented and hearty. Then when you combine that against the cost of the meal, you really are getting a cracking deal. Two starters, two mains and two pints was £61, and well worth every penny. Will definitely be booking ahead to get in here on any of my future Llandudno visists

Lovely pub hidden away from the main street with some great food. The deceptively large space hides a nice beer garden and beautiful gastropub inside. You'll find a great choice of beers including local ale. Service is really friendly and the food is hearty. It's a traditional pub menu and though I would say the presentation is a little agricultural it tastes great, we were really impressed (and pushed ourselves for dessert). Best place we went to for food in town during our trip, we had to make a reservation 2 weeks in advance and seats were already limited. Probably down to covid but they were stopping food orders after 8pm which is a shame as I think it's a treat of a place to eat at.
