Stop what you're doing and GO TO THIS CAFE!!!
We were staying in Penmaenmawr back in June and visited the area as a one-off day trip. The usual recognisable big named places to have breakfast such as Asda were a HUGE let down. We tried this small local cafe and my goodness- it was like a god send. Full Welsh Breakfast was stunning and cooked perfectly (the toast was phenomenal). The pots of tea were delightful and the milkshakes were fun and delicious! The service was friendly and helpful, even catering for when we made small changes to orders due to personal preference/taste. Front of house was small but charming, with additional outdoor seating, and the dessert cases were enticing - filled with fresh and homemade treats! The owners were lovely and worked in sync which created a warm atmosphere.
My dad ordered the rhubarb pie (the rhubarb itself was homegrown) and requested if they had custard to serve with it - they did! As it was brought out, he had the giddiest grin on his face and after tasting it, he became well and truly ENTHRALLED. We travelled and visited again the day after as it was just such a beautiful place to eat. We even ended up buying several different portions of desserts and pie to take home with us, which they generously wrapped up!

Read more3 yrs ago, had a lovely breakfast, good enough to return this year in April. Based on this year we won't go back again. Toasted teacakes are loaf version and served burnt. My eggs on toast were unseasoned poor quality eggs, on soggy toast, full English not worth coming back for, poor quality ingredients, not cooked with skill on this occasion. 3 yrs ago, great breakfast, and staff checked in on us mid meal. This year they didn't. This happens a lot when we've been served poor food. They either know it should never have been served, or our faces are enough for them to think don't ask. And I would've said something, but my teen would rather eat around the burnt bits than put up with the embarrassment of me asking for unburt food. I left most of mine. Paid. Left. Won't go back. Not if its inconsistent and they can't self manage quality control prior to serving, while I'm not allowed by family to politely ask for better. My first review recommended cafe indulgence. This review. Try it and see for yourself, keep your expectations low and I hope you're pleasantly surprised and have a lovely meal. For us. When it's a holiday treat. It has to be consistently good. So not...
