Heard about El jefe's from social media and decided to book in for the Sunday Roast. From start to finish it was amazing, the food was absolutely fantastic I can't fault it at all. The atmosphere was great nice and relaxing, cosy and warm, I sat next to the door but it wasn't cold! Very chilled and relaxed and there wasn't any rush to get us out the door. Staff were attentive but not overbearing just popping over every so often to ask if we were okay with everything etc. Took my little one with me and it was a great setting for her, not too loud and again staff brought crayons and kids menu over no bother without hesitation. Unfortunately I only remember one name of the staff members today and it was Chad, but honestly everyone was so lovely. Will definitely be back again on a Sunday for the roast, would also come back during the week.

I went with my 2 ok daughters to eat at this place. It has been the worst experience I have had in this place starting because the place has no good presentation, it is very dark, the customer service is terrible and the food is bad and expensive, also I ordered a dish from the kids menu for my 1 year old baby and the food was spicy, in reality this should not happen if they want to put spicy they should ask first since just because it is Mexican does not mean that everything has spicy and less the kids meals, I ordered an order of nachos with guacamole which I paid for and asked for take away when I got home I realized that they did not even put guacamole. I really would not recommend this place.

Visited for the Sunday roast with my partner and everything was absolutely amazing. We had the Chateaubriand which we had cooked medium rare and it was delicious, so flavourful and cooked to perfection. The portions were massive, huge pile of roast potatoes, loads of veggies and 2 big home made Yorkshire puddings, plus the gravy was to die for. Their own lager washed it down well and the service was quick and friendly despite the place being pretty busy while we were there. There was even the delightful surprise of some live music which added to the already great atmosphere. Would definitely return and recommend to friends and family. Thanks for a great Sunday lunch!

This place left a bad taste in our mouths - and that was without even eating anything! Had booked here for a birthday celebration and we were looking forward to trying something different. When we arrived, however, the booking had not been honoured and we still had to wait for a table to become free. We were also very quickly faced with a nightmare as the booking time of 7pm coincided with the beginning of a mariachi band set. The potential for a good time was there however it was painfully uncomfortable due to the band being attached to speakers which caused excessive noise levels for such a comparatively small space. My partner politely enquired with the waitress as to when the set finished and the answer was 9pm. We did not deem this to be an unreasonable or rude question. Upon further investigation, I delved back deep into the El Jefe’s instagram page where the last promotion of the band was the start of the year - my point here is that it is not clearly published and if it had then we would have made other arrangements. We noticed also that none of the surrounding tables had any food which was what we’d come for instead of just alcohol. It was not possible to engage in any sort of conversation and this was important to us as the group had come together to catch up. We wanted to be courteous to the waitress and let her know we were leaving but we were most hurt to hear her bad-mouthing us to her colleagues with accusations that we were complaining and causing hassle. Ironically, it was so loud that the waitress was unaware that we were standing right behind her and had tried to engage her on our way out the door. A real shame for one person to have spoiled our experience. If you’re looking for a night out and a loud party atmosphere then this is probably the place for you but this should be better communicated when expecting a meal out in...

The classic line "if I could give a 0 star review I would"....very much applies here. Fistly 3 of our starter orders got messed up which can happen but our sides were brought out as starters which we wanted with our mains (which is usually what a side is) and then 20/30 minutes later when we got our mains it was the same sides brought back out, we could tell because they were cold and had conjealed in the dish from being left in the kitchen. The rest of the food was bland at best, no real flavour to it. We ordered a chicken burrito and it came out with pork in it which was taken back to the kitchen then returned to us and we were told it was "a million percent chicken" it was in fact 100% definitely pork. The staff were terrible the whole night nobody came over to check if we needed anything or to ask how the food was they were too busy on their phones in the kitchen so we had to chase them for more drinks etc. They only had 2/3 tables of people in the restaurant so God knows what happens when the place is actually busy but maybe they were bored. When we went to pay, the waiter who was serving us all night went into hiding in the corner and let the bar man deal with us which seemed a bit harsh as he did nothing wrong, if you mess up just front it and try to sort it out. A limp apology was given but no real effort was made to try make up for it. If you're in the area looking for a bite to eat go next door to a Chinese called The Little Canteen or down the road to Sano Pizza as they know what customer service is and make you...

Went here on Friday night with my husband for my birthday dinner. Was really looking forward to it as I love Mexican but was such a disappointment for many reasons. We had called to inform them I was heavily pregnant so would prefer a low down table as opposed to the hight table top ones. Got there and we were sat at a high table and told no to a low table. Through the whole time we were there both customers and staff kept squeezing by my chair and nudging me, a member of staff squeezed passed and my bag and jacket dropped to the floor with no apology and didn't even bother to pick it up so there was me trying to get off the high seat and pick it up and climb back on. Noticed other tables getting complimentary tortilla chips and dips, we didn't, is there a system as to who they pick and choose who gets them? We ordered our food before the table beside us but got our food after them. My quesedillas were luke warm and dry, I only ate 2 because by the time I had eaten them the other 2 were so cold, the chicken wings were luke warm too. My husbands steak tacos were sparse, he ate 1 and left the other. The service was terrible, the girl serving could've atleast tried to have cracked a smile, she seemed to manage it no bother with the table of guys she was serving. Definitely won't be back, was so excited to try this place but I wish I'd read the reviews first to save the...
