Im so happy perth has a place that does incredible Philippines food I have worked alongside alot of friends from the Philippines that are over working in scotland in the power sector and had the pleasure of trying food from them when working away.
So when I seen the sighn "opening soon" in perth I couldn't wait to go in and see what they had on the menu.
We had the vegetable spring rolls that was a taste of there own completely different from other Asian restaurants( i.e fillings). That came with a lovely vinegary sweet chilli sauce not to hot sweet for my partner.
I had the fried okra that I had never tried before with a chilli vinegar unreal dont be scared to try, if you like a nice heat thats not over powering the chili vinegars for you.
For main i had the pork belly slow cooked in soya sauce with garlic fried rice, im not usually a fan of the fatty bit of the pork belly from when I have had it before. But talk about flavour bomb, no chewy fat! melt in the mouth the marinade is unreal best bit of pork belly ive ever had.
!!That good you start shaking your head in disbelief!!!
Full thing was unreal from the carrots to the crispy garlic threw the fried rice.
My Partner had the chicken tocino jasmine rice bowl. The combination of flavours were well put together with the pickled vegetables to the sweet cured chicken that was cooked to perfection, the portion size was perfect and the presentation was visually pleasing would highly recommend this dish
Also the soft drinks from the Philippines where super tasty and fun to try work out what they might compare to that we have had before -that was hard so we had to try 4 of them.
Over all amazing was stuffed after 2 starters and 2 mains will be back for a main and dessert looking forward to trying more from this amazing new restaurant in perth. Also pricing is bang on for quality of food and portions.

Read moreFirst visit to Lamesa did not disappoint! Myself, my partner and my Filipino mum all went for the Filipino menu. We shared some pork lumpia (spring rolls) after a complimentary bowl of bulalo which was a nice touch.
My mum and myself opted for Sisig (something I had first tasted in the Philippines). The sizzling plate, fresh flavors and fluffy rice were all 10/10. My partner got Beef Kare Kare, which also got a 10/10. We shared some Halo Halo for dessert. And it was homemade ube ice cream!
The chef takes a lot of care and pride in the dishes and more people should try it. If you have never tried Filipino food, I encourage you to visit Lamesa! While other Asian foods are more the norm, more people should try these Filipino favourites! There is a new tapas menu now which offers a little of everything. We'll be back to...
Read moreA Delicious Cultural Fusion at Its Finest I recently had the pleasure of dining at a Filipino-Scottish fusion restaurant, and it was a truly memorable experience. I tried the grilled chicken, beef tapa, and classic adobo ,each dish bursting with authentic Filipino flavors, yet presented with a modern twist. The beef tapa was tender and savory, while the adobo had a rich, comforting taste that felt like a warm hug.
The highlight for me was the dessert: Turon, a beautifully crispy banana wrap served with ice cream. The combination of textures and the balance of sweetness made it the perfect way to end the meal.
Portions were generous, and the menu showcased a creative and satisfying blend of Filipino and Scottish culinary traditions. A must-visit for anyone looking to explore delicious...
