We travelled to Perth just for this restaurant and it was definitely worth it. We ordered two starters: the duck with raspberry and mango&chorizo salad. They both were the ingredients I would not even think about putting together and they matched perfectly. If you will go for one starter, pick mango salad, that was my favourite. We then had two mussels mains: classic white wine marinated one and chillis one. They both were cooked nicely. Chilli one was a bit spicy (as they name suggests) and it had a nice touch with chorizos in it. It didn’t overwhelm the taste of mussels. We then ordered another main mussels: the one in tomato sauce and basil. It had a different but nice taste. It reminded me of penne arrabbiata and pizza to my partner. It definitely had an Italian touch. I think the classic mussels won this dinner. But if you are up for a change and would like to try others, they were great as well! We closed our dinner with desserts. We ordered crème brûlée and their special almond croissant pudding with custard. They outdid both these as well. Crème brûlée came with berry compost; it gave a sour taste to the dessert I loved it! All in all, it was one of the best mussels we both ever had. Next time we are in Scotland, we will definitely drive all the way here to try their other dishes.

We are big fans of the cooking of western France. So having not been able to visit France due to the restrictions, it was a real surprise and pleasure to discover a French restaurant during a visit to Perth. Breizh is Breton for Brittany so it caught our eye. The restaurant has a modern French bistro look. The staff were very busy, very welcoming, but not French.....however the menu definitely was. There was a very wide choice but there could only be one option and that was galettes, washed down with cider, followed by crepes. The food was delicious, cooked to perfection and served with a smile. One of the staff had to dash out, jump on her bike and get some bread. On return she got a deserved round of applause. It is a very versatile place suitable for romantic couples, family get togethers or just to escape the kitchen.Prices to suit all pockets. To be found in the High St not far from the Art Gallery and Theatre.

Had an absolutely wonderful anniversary dinner at Breizh restaurant in Perth last night. We hadn’t been in many years & now I’m kicking myself as to why! The food and service were really excellent. Being January the restaurant was quiet, but I honestly don’t know why nearby Cardo was full up by comparison, as although it probably has a more warm atmosphere, I found the food at Breizh to be significantly better in terms of quality & taste. Had the asparagus, salmon, hollandaise & poached egg to start; mussels in garlic & white wine for main; & caramelised apple crepe for dessert, all absolutely delicious, homemade bread was also provided gratis. Husband had the duck to start; ribeye for main; & basic crepe for dessert and he rated it all very highly. We had a delicious bottle of French Pinot to go with it, and were quite astonished by the vale for all of that when we got the bill. Would definitely recommend!
