Initially I had booked for a Friday evening however had to change it last minute to a Saturday evening. The staff were very friendly and helpful on the phone and very accommodating of the change. They managed to fit us in. On arrival the restaurant was full and buzzing - the staff were very friendly and Pedro recognised us from the phone call and was very charming. Pedro and his colleagues provided a wonderful experience and the food was delicious. All of the courses were beautifully prepared and flavoursome. We felt special and well looked after - a family meal with wonderful conversation and laughter - attributed to the atmosphere. My mother - a specialist in making prawn cocktail as a starter for family feasts rated the prawn cocktail the best she had ever had… For the wine I was welcomed to taste samples to choose from. The first red on the menu - 19Cabernet Merlot - wasn’t great (one to take off the menu in my opinion) so we chose the ‘21 Antiguo Fuerte Malbec Mendoza’ from Argentina. Complex tasty wine - a good accompaniment for the red wine. Dishes ranged from Tempura Pork - a ‘sweet and sour pork balls’ style dish with a spicy kick. Delish. The steaks were perfectly cooked, the fish tasted fresh and delicious and desserts were well received. Overall a super place to wine and dine with family and friends and service was comforting and fast despite the fact that the restaurant was full with a 30 yr birthday party celebration going on with a table of about 50 people!!! Highly recommended.

Visited on a Thursday evening for my father’s birthday. Unfortunately there was some kind of fund raising event going on that we weren’t informed about so the restaurant was completely packed and very loud. Absolutely no problem with people raising money for good causes but we would have picked another venue to have a quiet birthday meal, had we been warned beforehand. That being said, the service was still fine, although the mains took a long time to come out, but the food was excellent. We had the Tempura Pork Belly and the Goats Cheese and Beetroot tart to start, both were very good. For mains my father had the lamb shank which he very much enjoyed. My partner had the duck breast on the bed of noodles which, although looked rather bland in its presentation, I’m assured was delicious. I went for the Sirloin steak which was cooked the way I wanted and very generously portioned and was served with a superb peppercorn sauce. My favourite part of the meal though was undoubtedly the dessert! The Belgian waffle with ice cream was amazing, can’t recommend it highly enough. Good food and reasonably priced. We will certainly visit again but hopefully on a quieter evening.

My Aunt called and asked if they were wheelchair accessible and the owner said yes. He also said that there is a lip as you come through the door, but that's it. The photo shows a step and that makes a big difference for wheelchair users. That was a lie, they have no ramp to get in and no disabled toilet. They have a deal with the Mariners that you can use their toilet, except there is no radar key and you have to wait for the staff to open the door via a code. The food of the bistro was nice, but they don't provide a choice of bread with the patè, and the calamari was nice but greasy. The tables are height sufficient, but you cannot get close to the table because of the design so be prepared to eat your dinner from a distance- if you're in a wheelchair. If the owner had explained and said, sorry we are not wheelchair accessible, but this is the situation it may have been different. But I understand that establishments get funding from the government when they say they are wheelchair accessible.

Our lunchtime visit on a cold wet November Tuesday found the place very quiet. Service was very friendly, even if on one occasion it took a few attempts to get someone's attention to order another drink.

My pigeon starter was overall very nice, though I felt they could have preheated the plate especially on such a cold day as the dish quickly cooled down. Whilst the centre of the breast was perfectly cooked one side had slightly caught so a mildly burnt flavour crept into the dish. These were two minor faults I am prepared to forgive given the low cost, (we used a tastecard).

My halibut main was equally tasty, though this time let down by the fish being overcooked. I also would have preferred the fish to have been served without the very thick layer of fat - removing this would have given them the opportunity to further crisp the skin which was sadly slightly under. It was such a shame as both dishes were very close to being spot on. My partner had a lamb main - the meat itself was cooked well and tasted nice but again let down by minor cooking errors - in this case a lack of seasoning and not being served hot.

All in all it was very close to being a great meal, but my major gripe was the extremely long wait between starters and mains. Given how quiet the restaurant was there was no discernable reason for this, (and makes it even more upsetting my fish was overcooked as they could have brought it earlier!!).

If I had paid a-la-carte prices I would have been very disappointed at the minor errors but at tastecard proces, (or even their set menu price), it was a very nice meal. Overall though I'd definitely return in the hope it was...

Not sure I've given 5* feedback for a restaurant with no hesitation before. Firstly thank you to the owner/manager and staff for a really great experience.

I took my girlfriend for her birthday and from the moment we walked in I felt welcome and knew we'd have a great experience.

As others have stated, the service is friendly, professional, courteous and attentive, but not fussy. We weren't rushed and the entire evening came off as I planned/hoped.

The food was top quality and beautifully presented. A nice menu with lots of choice.

Good selection of drinks too, also at a reasonable prices.

I felt every bit that the experience was personal to us and delivered to meet our requirements.

Relaxed atmosphere, music in the background, and great ambience.

There was 1 minor issue (out of the restaurant's direct hands), but that was dealt with 100% customer satisfaction in mind. Not always the case at some restaurants!!

Good value for money; I've paid more for far lower quality at some of the nearby 'better-established' restaurants.

Also very appreciative of a few extra touches that emphasized how much the owner respected the customer and importance of our night. Thanks again.

I'd never heard of this place until a few weeks ago, but will definitely go...
