I visited Alchemy on the Broadway in Leigh-on-Sea for the first time and was absolutely blown away! The quality of the food is nothing short of outstanding 👌✨.
Huge shout-out to Josh, Ben, and Jasper — you guys are smashing it! 👏👏 The passion and creativity you put into your food really shines through.
I ordered the scrambled eggs with kimchi and added bacon — and it was incredible. 🥚🥓 The eggs were silky and velvety, the sourdough toast was light yet perfectly crisp, and the kimchi had a beautifully balanced tang and spice. Every element came together perfectly, and the sauces were spot-on to complement the dish. Honestly, it tasted every bit as good as it looked! 😍
The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, the staff are genuinely friendly, and as a big bonus — it’s dog-friendly too 🐾.
✨ Highly recommend giving Alchemy a try if you haven’t already — you won’t be disappointed! 🌟
Thank you 😊🙏💓

The wife and I usually go for breakfast which is superb. Today we were about in the afternoon so went for lunch. Got to say the food was just perfect. They are masters at subtly blending really bold flavours. Lots of contemporary craftsmanship at work using fermented foods, miso et al, combined with more traditional items and it just really works. Each bite will have you identifying new flavours and tricks that these guys use to impart great balance to their dishes.
A special mention for the sweets. Incredible homemade doughnuts with apple filling, not overly sweet as most doughnuts are. Delicious banana bread with a sweet-salty balance, and the chocolate brownies are just ridiculous.
Also nice to find a place that use top quality coffee, and understand how to steam and foam milk for each...
Read moreFirst off the food was impeccable, some of the best scrambled eggs, cooked to my liking, ive ever had and her ladyships breakfast sandwich was spot on.
Our coffees were well made, the only slight issue was the only alternative milk they had was oat, but im ok with that although coconut is always my preference.
Cost was fine, just under £30 for a decent breakfast item each and a coffee each.
For me it was the little things that lost it a star, no sugar on the table or offered when the coffee was delivered, no salt and pepper either, only two serviettes in the little box that the cutlery was sitting in and the final issue, is the open kitchen which resulted in us both walking out smelling of cooked food, sure there are worse things to smell of, but the extraction in the cafe could def do with a boost.
We'll def be back but maybe we will sit outside on...
