Okay so first of all, the food here is delicious. It’s actually the best Korean food we’ve had in Glasgow so far. BUT! The 1 star rating is because of the service. I have to be harsh here unfortunately because their mistake was simply unacceptable.
We were there this summer and the person serving us did an awful job. I am vegan and the person I was with is Muslim AND WE WERE SERVED PORK. I always finish any order at any restaurant with “so everything is vegan, correct?” and the server replied “correct” 😣 We ordered the aubergine katsu curry but even with the lack of meat on the plate, there was apparently pork in the sauce. We found that out after coming back later when another server said “no sorry, you’d have to order the aubergine with the garlic soy sauce instead because the katsu curry sauce has pork in it”. I haven’t had pork in 17 years and the person I was with is Muslim so they obviously have never had pork. Absolutely disgusting.
It’s such a shame because we truly love the food and would get food from here as often as we could but I even know someone who went here and got the chicken katsu curry DURING RAMADAN. That means they broke their religious fast with PORK. Just awful.
But if you don’t have any dietary restrictions, the food is delicious and I would recommend it 😅 Just be really careful if you’re...
Read moreI absolutely love the Hotteok desert filled with cinnamon and sugar. I don’t think any other Korean restaurant does it as far as I know. The mains are decent too. This was our 3rd visit and unfortunately the service was pretty much non existent today. We basically had to serve ourselves. After choosing our food, we closed the menus to show we were ready and sat there for half an hour! We felt completely ignored. They occasionally cleaned some tables around us, hanged in the kitchen and just ignored us. Then they took the order of a couple next to us who arrived AFTER us and again ignored us. So we had to ASK for them to take our order finally. After the food I stacked up all the plates so they knew we were done, and waited and waited, I was hoping to order my favourite dessert. Obviously I had to get up and ask for it myself. The restaurant was NOT that busy by this point. Guess what happened when we put our coats on to indicate we were ready to leave? Well fortunately we knew it was self service at this point. There's no excuse tbh. It's just a shame because the food is nice. Please fix the...
Read moreI don’t tend to write reviews but felt I needed to at least make other parents aware. I was so looking forward to trying Namu and sadly we didn’t get to experience it. I booked a table and asked about a high chair so they apparently catered for young children. We arrived at 5pm and the restaurant was empty, my daughter unfortunately wasn’t in the best mood and I admit was very vocal (screeching) and throwing toys on the floor, but with no one there I hoped once she got food she would calm down. It was taking a while to take our order and once we ordered the waitress told us that if the restaurant got busy I’d have to keep my daughter quiet. At 18 months old I’d love to have that power but there is never any guarantee and so we had to leave and go elsewhere. While I understand you don’t want other diners to be disturbed please don’t pretend you welcome children if you make customers...
