I've never witnessed such messy and ineffective management of tables. I'll be honest I was tempted to just leave when we arrived as the staff member of the door didn't have a clue.
Arrived early evening. Told were about 20 mins behind on food at the moment. Multiple empty tables around, thinking fine, can get a drink, and then if foods a bit then then fine. I say, that's fine I'm gasping for a drink anyway. He then somehow jumps to the assumption that I'm talking about alcohol when I simply meant one of the refill jobs! And he tells me we can't serve you alcohol until you're seated so clearly making assumptions. I ask what's with the empty tables and he then advises he's got a list and wanted us to come back in about 10 mins but definitely no longer than 20 or we forfeit our place on the list.... Why he could just say, sorry I haven't got any tables at the moment as I've got a few people coming back for those empty tables, rather than the whole, food is 20 mins behind, thing I don't know!!
We're finally seated after trying to work out what the hell was going on. Food was fine. Seemed to come out at a reasonable speed and cooked well, so from that side no issues.
What I then continued to watch though was the most messy allocation of tables ever. He continues to take names from people coming through the door, some sitting on the seating in the doorway waiting for a table... There's at this point about 10 tables free as a lot more people have left. There's about 3 tables sat in the doorway and I've seen a few others come and go and clearly have their names written down. He's now got less people than tables, but until the other people on the list have come back he keeps everyone else actually there still waiting!! You've got more tables than people to sit at them. Get the ones still in the restaurant sat, then when the others come back that's higher up your list then there still tables for them! He couldn't look past, I need to allocate the person at the top of the list next, despite there being more than enough tables.
Honestly never seen such a messy service. They're going to loose custom of they can sort it out and actually make some sense of it.
I think the manage realised finally as we were leaving. I could bear to watch...

Unfortunately, my recent visit to Nando's was a disaster. The service was incredibly unprofessional and disorganized. To make matters worse, the atmosphere felt hostile and racist because we are gypsy’s which was completely unacceptable.
The food ordering process seemed to go smoothly, but that's where the positives ended. My meal arrived promptly, but my partner's food took an astonishing 40 minutes to arrive. When it finally did, it felt like an afterthought.
The lack of communication, apologies, or effort to rectify the situation was staggering. It's clear that the staff were overwhelmed, but that's no excuse for the poor service and unpleasant atmosphere.
Until Nando's addresses these issues, I wouldn't recommend visiting. Perhaps consider other options for a more enjoyable dining experience.
A girl sat on the table next to us spewed at the side of our table , and the staff keep talking and talking about it about sick and the smell which was just turning us off our food. We can cope with children being sick yes but the staff to keep talking about it and mentioning the smell but not once offered us to move ?
My partners food moved seats as the smell was too bad and then the staff said he could not sit on that table and chairs as it’s broke (they was no sign) so he asked where should he sit and she said go sit on there .. and pointed to a table what was occupied with a family...
Read moreOverpriced and Undercooked! first visit to the new Nando's, no idea how they work the seating system we were told there would be a 15 - 20min wait despite there being numerous empty tables 🤷♀️ anyway some 30 minutes after we were seated, ordered our food collected our drinks, sauces, etc, food arrived quickly , too quickly to be honest as I started to eat my chicken I thought this isn't very warm on further inspection it wasn't thoroughly cooked, spoke to a member of staff who took the 'untouched chicken' on our platter back to be cooked some more (we had the platter for 2, however I was was told they were unable to take the piece of chicken back that I had started to eat but didn't replace it either so basically we paid for inedible food, not even the offer of a complimentary coffee to compensate. This was our first visit to a Nando's in a while and was shocked at how expensive it is for what it is now, so sorry Nando's we've no desire to return...
