Very disappointed to have to write a review like this given how much we were looking forward to this meal. I made a reservation for 3 and on arrival we were shown outside to the terrace. Absolutely freezing cold, no heaters and we had to go find blankets (which made little difference) ourselves. The staff were clearly overwhelmed and our starters arrived well over an hour after we arrived. Main courses took another 30 minutes to appear. We ordered the calamari, scallops and oysters to start. When they arrived with one look we knew we were in for a massively disappointing experience. For £21 you don't expect 3 teeny scallops with a mountain of breadcrumbs on them you expect 3 fat juicy scallops, they were 'okay' but not really acceptable. The calamari portion was also small and underwhelming and they oysters were gritty and not properly prepared. We were off to a poor start. Our main courses were when finally served pretty lukewarm and only the ray wing was actually good, the chicken milanese was tough and dry and the hake was cold. The unlimited chips were a good marketing idea because I doubt anyone would order more they were cold, unappetising and everyone left most of them. We were absolutely freezing for the whole time and our evening was a massive disappointment - the view is pretty but when you're cold, your food is cold, expensive, and unappetising it doesn't compensate. We heartily wished we'd gone elsewhere in Brixham as every place we went staff were thoughtful, the food was delicious and reasonably priced. If you're inside eating here it's still going to be average but at least...

Booked here based on great reviews but won’t be coming back.Promised a room outside on the balcony, upon arrival were told that it “wasn’t possible now” but we were now elsewhere - on the bridge, (?) which was “just as good”. This was extremely disappointing as I’d only phoned Rockfish two days previously to check that we were still outside, as I’d requested on my email booking. We were ready to make a go of our new seating but Had to ask for the music to be turned down and Another party arrived who were so loud that we couldn’t hear ourselves think! I did politely speak with the senior member of staff, we were then offered a table outside, but were told we’d have to wait for a family to finish eating and for them to clear our new table. The noise where we now were was too much! We moved to the bar area and stood and waited. When we were seated our food was good, but not amazing. We repeatedly had to ask for tartare sauce, water, the chips varied from being extremely hot to lukewarm when they arrived. Walking past the kitchen, a member of the service staff (who seemed to struggle smiling) was heard telling staff”will you get it together because I’m having to deal with people when I serve this”!

We did appreciate the complimentary bottle of wine and the 10% off the bill - to be honest, we just wanted to leave. Interestingly, the meal we had the night before at the Prince William was much better. Better quality fish, service and a much more...

Ate here upstairs and they wasnt acomandating at all, i asked for the special cod to be battered, chef said no, i asked for the skin to be removed from the hakebefore battering the fish chef said no! It is a fish restaurant i do not understand why you cant batter the fish! So i was left no choice but too order a portion of chips and when it arrived omg it was a small portion in a tinned dish! So i kept asking for have more and more! To be able to feel full. Husband, our daughter and brother had a nice meal but brothers meal was more like the same size as my daughters kid meal but at higher price! Manager asked at the end was everything okay with you meal and she knew by our voices it wasn't but we were initially just pay and left but she asked questions and as my beother was talking too her she walked away and that was so rude! Eventually she came back and she was saying she wanted us too leave happy will deduct all the drinks off the bill(£32.50) receieved the bill only £20 been taken off by this point my brother was so mad and upset as the manager walked away while he was talking too her so he just left. I mentioned to the manager you said you wanted us too leave happy and promise to take all the drinks off, she came back again and now it was £25 taken off by this point i couldnt be bothered too stand my ground. I won't be returning too eat upstairs in this restaurant again! The service...

We had an excellent experience at Rockfish in Brixham Harbour with my wife and our Labrador, who was very well looked after. The menu offered plenty of tempting choices, and we especially liked how the waitress described the specials, circling and pricing them on the menu as she explained each dish – a nice personal touch. The food itself was excellent and beautifully prepared. While the prices felt a little on the high side (more like London prices), the quality and service made it worthwhile. Our server was outstanding – attentive, friendly, and very helpful in guiding us with our choices. It all made for a really enjoyable evening. As an added bonus, because we were renting a local fisherman’s cottage, our first drinks were complimentary, which was a lovely surprise. Rockfish is a great spot for excellent seafood, warm service, and a relaxed atmosphere with good views of the working harbour.

We have been using Rockfish Seafood Restaurant in Brixham for many years and have always been enthralled and thrilled to enjoy a great dining experience each and every time. My favourite location is on the balcony terrace overlooking the bay with the moored & unloading trawlers & adjacent Brixham Fish Market. It is one of our very special places. Not to be missed, also is the opportunity of buying superb fresh, mainly local caught produce from the oh-so-enthusiastic & knowledgable wonder-man Jamie down on the ground floor Rockfish retail fishmongers. (Third photo is of some of Jamie’s beautiful Pollock & whole Bream which was pan-fried together with asparagus & a little garlic butter & parsley back on the camp site. Unbelievably good!) Thank you everyone! All staff at Rockfish Brixham are always beyond reproach. A wonderful and unique dining experience not to be missed.

Decided to take my children here for a "snack" whilst on holiday in the area and Rocksalt did not disappoint. We ordered a few starters to share between us. Crusty Baguette with Anchovy Mayonnaise was possibly the nicest thing I've eaten in a long time. Whitebait, my children were very keen to try for the first time and they loved it! Pint of prawns, we all devoured this, prawns were super tasty and so fresh. Salt and pepper squid was absolutely beautiful again, so fresh. We sat outside where it's covered and with outdoor heaters which was lovely. We over looked the fishing harbour and saw 2 seals. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Overall, it was a very pleasant hour and I would highly recommend coming here if you are in the area.. I didn't take any pics of the food cause I totally forgot and was too busy getting stuck in!
