We Always used this Restaurant every time we visited Brixham as a family , we were always pleased , as the weather was poor this visit we decided to take away as my 83 year old mother did not come out with us that day , we ordered the jumbo cod , a veggi Burger and 4 portions of chips , the Bill came to £32 we wasn’t concerned as we was aware of the usual quality and service ! Wow what a DISSAPOINTMENT !!!when I ordered the jumbo cod I asked was it enough for two as mum and I was sharing , the girl said yes , you get two pieces I was shocked at the size of the fish (only one piece)and the portions of chip sizes were so Dissapointed that I emailed the company and awaited a reply ! Alas my email was ignored , so after 3 days, before we went home I called in and spoke to a manager , he said that I had been given a small cod by mistake and I told him that the portions of chips were less than average ! (Photographs included) I explained that we were all left feeling hungry and disappointed , let alone left feeling ripped off of £32! He took my name and promised me that he would encourage his manager to chase my email up and offer me some compensation for this disastrous meal! I’ve been home a week or more now and there has been no communication ! You spoiled a family fish supper we will no longer be using or recommending your establishment as we have done in the past !! This is how you treat your loyal customers! A really poor show on your Behalf ! What ever happened to treating customers with respect !! Avoid this establishment you will leave hungry !!! There are plenty of other equally good fish and chip shops locally in the harbour , your company has got too big for its boots !!

Searching for a good restaurant to have lunch, I spotted Simply Fish close to the harbour, and decided to give it a try. It turned out to be an excellent choice! The lady who greeted me was friendly and welcoming. The interior decor is eye-catching and modern, with a relaxing blue colour scheme and silver fish across the ceiling. There's a separate entrance for the takeaway. The banquette was comfortable, and the tables and restaurant as a whole looked very clean. The menu offered a good choice of starters and main courses, mainly fish and seafood, ranging from fish and chips to more sophisticated and expensive dishes, but there were also some burgers and vegetarian/vegan options, and a children's menu. I decided to try something different, so I chose the monkfish and prawn curry with a side dish of rice, mango chutney, and a large poppadom. The meal was well presented, with generous portions. The monkfish (the first time I'd tried it) was quite meaty, and the curry was thick and filling with coconut and lots of vegetables in it. Pleasantly aromatic, but also hot and spicy. There was a small selection of homemade desserts for afters, but I was much too full! So I just ordered a pot of tea, and it was very good. Service was both quick and attentive. The lunch was a bit on the expensive side, but it was highly enjoyable nevertheless! If you're looking for good quality food in a relaxed and friendly environment, I would recommend this restaurant.

Booked after seeing how busy the place was and the relatively good reviews. Fairly clean inside l, first waitress was pleasant but she soon disappeared. The menu looked very limited, but a small varied selection. The food come in stages despite asking for it to be all at the same time, it wasn't much, but still upto 5 minutes between first and last plate. The food looked nice, however at no point did any of the windows say or show dogs welcome or friendly, I can understand if there was outside seating available, however to have inside was a little off putting. Even more so that the one closest to us kept shaking his fur and moving about, though generally would stay still, however the smaller black dog was a little needy and begging at the table until some food was put on the floor for him, again not what you would expect in a restaurant. The price seemed quite steep for what was really chipshop takeaway food and service on a plate, with drinks, I don't mind paying for a decent nice meal, but i dont feel that any of the food or service excelled to be that sort of price. And most definitely the table service was not worth of the 10% service charge. Few other bits but not really detrimental to a meal out, the toilets were dirty, no toilet roll and the extractor fan does not look as if it has been cleaned in sometime.
