I recently had the pleasure of dining at this local establishment, and I must say, their fish and chips with mushy peas was an absolute delight.
The star of the show was, of course, the fish and chips. The fish was beautifully golden and crispy on the outside, while the inside remained tender and flaky. It was clear that they used fresh, high-quality fish to achieve such a delectable texture and taste. The accompanying chips were perfectly cooked, with a satisfying crunch on the outside and a fluffy, soft interior. Each bite was a delightful combination of flavors and textures, leaving me craving more.
What truly elevated the dish was the addition of mushy peas. The peas were cooked to perfection, offering a creamy and flavorful contrast to the crispy fish and chips. The mushy peas provided a refreshing and slightly tangy element to the dish, enhancing its overall deliciousness. It was a perfect accompaniment that added a touch of vibrancy to the meal.
The portion size was generous, ensuring that I left the restaurant feeling fully satisfied. The presentation of the dish was also noteworthy, with the fish and chips neatly arranged and the mushy peas served in a separate dish. The attention to detail was evident, and it made the dining experience even more enjoyable.
In addition to the fantastic food, the service at this establishment was commendable. The staff members were friendly and attentive, ensuring that every aspect of the dining experience was taken care of. From taking orders promptly to providing recommendations and catering to any special requests, their professionalism and warm hospitality enhanced the overall experience.
Overall, I highly recommend this establishment for anyone seeking a delicious and satisfying fish and chips meal with mushy peas. The quality of the food, the generous portions, and the attentive service make it a standout choice. Whether you're a local or a visitor, this place is definitely worth a visit to experience the flavorful combination of fish, chips, and mushy peas done right....
Read moreGreat food and very popular. You go straight to the till while people who placed their orders wait outside with a ticket number.
Once you order you wait outside for your number to be called. There will be a lot of people and there wont be alot of space to stand depending on what time you go.
The food was great. The only negative unfortunately is they have 2 people taking orders and bagging the food. And sad to say they are not the best, we went down as a group of 6 and went to this chippy 4 times in a week and they messed up multiple peoples orders over multiple days. Some not so bad but one for example ordered Rock Salmon and got chicken and she doesn't eat. On the last time we went I tried to keep an eye on what they packed but everything goes in boxes and the box lid opens so you cant see in the box from the other side of the window. On this day they still made a mistake but it was in our favour as the had 3 currys sauces instead of 2 after some confusion between the front and back she gave us the sauce free.
We go here every year minus 2020 of course and despite the negatives above this place is still highly rated...
Read moreNot sure if we we caught them on a bad day, but this felt distinctly average for the top rated f&c in Brixham.
My wife waited for around half an hour, they said they were short staffed but continued to take new customersâ orders and money without warning them of the wait. The chap in front of us had apparently been waiting 40 minutes. It didnât appear that busy on the takeaway side, but clearly the restaurant was taking priority.
By the time we had our order, a few people were getting understandably upset with the wait; why keep taking orders and not telling people though?
The chips were ok albeit a bit greasy. But the batter had completely fallen off one side of the fish, and was completely over cooked and crispy at the narrow end. The rest of the fish was ok, albeit the batter wasnât crispy - which was surprising after a less than 1 minute walk to where we were sat. 1 jumbo battered sausage became two smalls; they werenât hot, and the batter had that odd consistency where it feels like itâs been under a heat lamp too...
