Strand Art Gallery — Attraction in Brixham

We commissioned 2 paintings a number of years ago and returned to commission 2 more but all the local artists have either died, retired or moved away and there haven't been any new or young artists to keep this gem of a gallery going so it is currently on the market to be sold. So we purchased 2 paintings of Briham Harbour to capture this last opportunity for lasting memories which this amazing harbour embodies and the rich history it holds. Amazing gallery, I went for a visit today with my son to remanise of when I was younger, watching paintings come to life and inspire me to be the artist I am today! Was greeted with a warm welcome and had a lovely chat with the couple there. The artwork available and on display are stunning works of art and seeing them really brings perspective on how talented these artists are. Good gallery. Can't get down to Devon nowadays, but over the years have been a few times. Bought a few George Hornes mid 70's and two William Stockman's. One mid 70's and the other early 2000's, Can't believe difference! As he got older he put more detail into his pictures. When we spoke to him he said in early days it was so busy with tourists he could knock one up in less than an hour. But obviously as he got older...
