The booking process was not seamless (had to leave a message as couldn't get through, had difficulties sending a text also).
When we arrived (at 19:15) the welcome was far from friendly, but we were seated right away. We were told that window seats had to be pre booked, but unfortunately we couldn't get through to do that.
There were three waiters serving a half empty restaurant when we first arrived, but after around 20 mins, it started to fill. The window seats if you do get one, have a great view of the bay.
We ordered drinks quite early, which came within 5 mins. The waiter came back in a couple of minutes to take our food order.
From our table, one of us ordered from the nibbles menu, but nothing from the 'to start' menu. We then ordered four mains at 19:36.
After around 20 mins of waiting for the nibbles, we tried to get the attention of one of the waiters, especially ours, but to no avail. There was complimentary bread served at the table.
When the food did arrive (at 20:23, 47 mins later), I asked about the nibbles, and the waiter explained that they thought I said no one wanted any starters, so it wasn't ordered. When I ordered from the nibbles menu, I subsequently mentioned that no one else wanted any starters, but it seems they thought I meant no one wanted any starters (including the nibbles I just ordered). I said that wasn't the case, but in keeping with their poor customer service, there wasn't any response, just a blank look (as if to say, not my problem) which they gave on almost every occasion a question was asked. At one point she even changed the subject following a question regarding then menu, but I insisted that there be an answer, to which they responded, I'll go an ask.
Thankfully, the food was very nice. We enjoyed the steak and the sides. The fish and chips were delicious, but not filling at all (probably as there were about 6/7 chips on the plate). All in all the food would give this restaurant a 4.5 stars out of 5. The customer service us what brought it down.
There was however, one waiter who had excellent customer service and was very friendly (although she wasn't actually serving our table, but did come over a couple of times once we had our food to check how we were and to take payment). I didn't get her name, but she had a green dress, green mask and a moon tattoo. If the other two tried to smile and/or had her demeanor, the whole experience would have...

We ate at Beamers on 7th October 2022 as a party of 4 people and it was a terrible experience ! When we ordered the waiter said that she forgot to tell us that they had ran out of certain starters which left us with limited options to choose for starters. When we ordered our mains, one person ordered the shark fillet special and it came out very mushy that you could drink it through a straw. One person ordered the monkfish and the way the chef prepared it wad completely wrong as the chef forgot to take the sheath of the monkfish so it was rubbery like a car tyre. When both dishes were sent back they did prepare a fresh fillet of seabass for both people, however the sizes of the seabass fillets were not the same as one was really small the other was vastly bigger. The other two dishes was ok. The selection of vegetables to accompany the meals was poor. We received our bill and Beamers expected us to pay the bill in full despite two dishes being poor quality. After we complained again, they chose to give us a gesture of taking £25 off the bill but still had to pay for a dish that we did not receive. Also seabass was not worth the prices of the dishes we ordered and expected to pay. Their customer service was very poor and the way they dealt with our complaints. I believe this was due the beamers being over booked with several large parties of 6 and more people, and seems they were getting better service. Also I believe the chefs were rushing to get food out of the kitchen due to large parties. Also the waiters was rushing around and couldn't cope with volume of big parties. Due to this terrible experience we will not be returning to beamers...
Read moreBefore we arrived at beamers which we booked weeks in advance and saved this special occation for the last day of our holiday we were very looking forward to it especially the amazing reveiws from the lady we were staying with.. We had our table booked at 8pm but when we arrived our table wasnt ready we were very accomadating and offered to return in 30 mins. When we arrived back our table was ready and here began our meal. First my partner ordered the pate which 15 mins later were told no pate which really waiting staff should no when a menu item has run out. I had mussels very nice but no bowl for the shells and no finger bowl so a bit messy. Again we let it go and waited for our mains. My partner had mussels scollops and prawns yet again no finger bowl we then had to ask no appologies just a well i guess oh . The veg was average dauphinoise very average. Im a chef and i no good food more than very well so i knew for the price it was a massive let down. If at the end the lady on charge would have accepted the mistakes we would not have wrote this reveiw but she seemed to have a excuse for all. We defo wouldnt recomend this place the chip shop next door offered more service...
