What a quaint family run gem this is. When you enter the restaurant you are greeted with the gelato offerings available on display and the beautiful pizza oven blazing in the kitchen but, more so, was the smell of authentic Italian delicacies. We were promptly met by the staff (theme of the evening) and a table was set for us. Before we were seated, we were offered a window side seat because it was a nicer view. From there we had the distinct pleasure of reading the menu...sounds silly, but it is true. The descriptions are as authentic as the staff and the food, clever and entertaining. We had a couple of cocktails, really loved both the Negroni and the Italian Mule, quite tart, which is what I love! From there we devoured the mixed board. The meats were exceptional with extremely mild ham, slightly spicy salami, and the best prosciutto I've had in years. But the stars of the show were the cheese and bread. That bread is to die for. We noted it was the first item on the menu, and there is a good reason! The mozzarella was smooth and mild, the gorgonzola was wonderful with the bread, but the Grana Padano was so perfect you don't need to pair it with anything. Moved on to the main course of Carbonara Italian Style and Tagliata di Manzo. The pasta was delicious, simple and peppery, but exactly what the described in the menu description. They take so much pride in their dishes, one of the owners came over to discuss how and why they make the dish this way... I would come back just for that! The steak was over, but the attention and shock by the staff that it didn't meet their standards was memorable. We had 3 staff members out to apologize for a simple error, again detailing the pride in their work. They even offered to take my pasta back to keep it warm so we could eat together but I politely declined as I couldn't stop eating. Once the steak came out, the cook was impeccable and the addition of balsamic made the meat shine. Incidentally the fries were some of the best my picky wife has had in Glasgow. We ended with the Honey and Pecorino board as they were out of tiramisu, which I mention because if a restaurant is out of something, it usually means it is great! Again a simple and elegant dish as the combination of pear/cheese/honey is just lovely. I have to mention the staff as they were absolutely phenomenal. Went so above and beyond to make our evening special. We really appreciate Alessandro, Angelo and the team. We will be back soon and you should...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sandro’s Pizzeria in Glasgow, and what an experience it was! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warmth and genuine Italian hospitality, setting the tone for an unforgettable meal.
The star of the show was undoubtedly the pizza. Crafted with top-quality ingredients, the base was light, airy, and perfectly crispy—thanks to a 48-hour fermentation process that made all the difference. Every bite was a burst of flavor, with a balance of textures that was simply divine. It’s clear that passion and expertise go into every pizza here.
But the delights didn’t stop there. I also indulged in their mille-feuille, a masterpiece of delicate layers and velvety custard. The pastry was flaky, the cream was rich and smooth, and it was evident that this dessert was made with true artistry.
To top it all off, the coffee was the real deal—an authentic Italian espresso that transported me straight to a café in Naples. The service was swift and attentive, and the cozy, stylish ambiance made me feel right at home.
Sandro’s is more than just a pizzeria; it’s a little piece of Italy in the heart of Glasgow. Whether you’re craving a perfect pizza, a decadent dessert, or just a great cup of coffee, this place delivers on every level. I can’t wait to return—highly...
Read moreDecor was pleasant and seats were comfy with a good view of the Kelvingrove museum outside. Background music was a little odd at times. Servers were nice and food prep wasn't too long. Food options are very good and all sounded promising with some items that I hadn't heard of before which was refreshing.
All the food was well presented and portion size was big, although this matched the higher prices. I think it would be smarter to have smaller portions for cheaper prices to encourage ordering a couple of items - I struggled to eat a starter and main, let alone any sides or dessert.
Both my pasta and bread were undersalted which was very disappointing for an Italian restaurant. The cheesy sauce and added rosemary & salt on my dishes didn't do much to compensate the lack of flavouring of the actual pasta and bread - these need to have more salt added while cooking. When there are a number of other high-quality Italian options available in Glasgow, Farina needs to try a bit harder to stay viable as a competitive option. I'm willing to come back to try one of the more unusual dishes that caught my eye, hopefully by then I'll get to taste the flavours of Italy I've come to expect from authentic Italian...
