The Black Swan — Restaurant in Great Britain

We came to The Black Swan a fortnight ago. Having struggled to find somewhere to eat that fitted our tastes/needs, we stumbled across The Black Swan almost ready to give up and go home hungry. This place was just what we were looking for.

The incredibly kind lady behind the bar allowed us to place our food order, even though we had just missed the cut off for ordering food at 8:30pm. We ordered two versions of their loaded fries (highly recommend the homemade pulled pork which was incredible!) and a selection of other small bits although the larger main meals that other tables ordered looked very tasty and generously portioned.

Great atmosphere, excellent music and kind, attentive staff. We were not rushed out of the place despite being the last customers there by some margin. We will return and enjoy another game of Dobble here in future for sure. Thanks to everyone at The Black Swan for saving our family day trip to Looe and filling hungry...

We ate as a group of 5, 4 adults and a 4 year old. We had a mixture of dishes. The pie was great, as was the sausage and mash and the Gluten Free Fish and Chips. Our poor 4 year old Grandson could not eat his kids menu chilli con carne. It was so spicy, the chef even put jalapenos on the dish. Whilst I would have loved it, as I like really spicy dishes, it was way way to hot for a 4 year old. We had to give him some of the adults sausage and mash in the end. We raised the issue with the staff but even though he could not eat the food due to its overspiced flavours they still charged. It was a real shame as the disappointment of our grandson spoilt want otherwise would have been a good experience. The restaurant should learn from this. Kids chilli con carne needs to be mildly spiced and jalapenos should be avoided or provided as an option for...

My wife and I popped into The Black Swan on Tuesday 29th of September around 8pm.We had a nice welcome from the staff and found this place to be nice and clean.We each ordered nachos one with chilli con carne and one without meat and a side salad.Our order was fairly prompt and looked pleasant.My wifes meal was completely swamped in what they called salsa but was actually flavoured ketchup ,it was soooo sweet and the sauce covered everything so she was really unable to eat much of it.The place was very busy and rather than make a fuss we paid the bill and left.As the description of the meal said Salsa, that is what it should be! not a flavoured ketchup.Very poor quality for something that should...
