Went to The Den for a gig (SoapGirls), my first time at The Den. Easy to find, central to Harrogate, down some stairs. Nice and roomy, big bar, really good bar staff (one of the bar staff actually remembered my round, which was impressive). The venue is a sports bar with at least one humongous tv screen. The place was well lit, and it does bear mentioning, the Gents toilets were very clean and perhaps the best WC's I've been in, in my many years of going to gigs. The sound was good for the support band but a little ropey on the first 2 songs of the main band but that was soon cleared up. The stage could do with being a little bigger, I feel. Both bands had 3 members, if either had a 4th I'd think they might struggle for space on the stage. Overall, a great venue and I'll more than likely be back. Also, whoever was in charge of the music before the bands came on played some absolute class. Well done. 4 stars seems a bit churlish on reflection. Probably...

Obviously, the most important thing is the drinks, that offer a good range of options, but for me the real bonus is the pizza they now sell. I had a remarkable vegetarian pizza, with a pint included for a tenner, which is very good for Harrogate prices - and the pizza itself was world class!
This is a place with a very good reputation, that's now one of the more established venues in town - it supports live music, and I'm really happy to see that in a post-Covid world the new Den looks like it is back in...
Read moreTilly, on first impression is one of a kind! Engaging, cute, a good judge of character within a nanosecond, tights fraid n'all. Refreshingly respectful, she couldn't be more delightful, "Above all else be true to yourself" comes to mind! Rarely do you find a member of staff with engagement skills as Tilly! Given her customer interaction, I would recommend the bar to all and sundry. Plus visit many times here on in. A fixer, wants the best for all her customer's, no stone unturned springs to mind. A lovely impression.
Advice is - KEEP ON KEEPING ON
