The Ichiban Sushi & Noodle Bar Japanese Restaurant — Restaurant in Great Britain

Let me preface this by saying that this place was one of my wife's favourite places. The food was fine. The waiter made a mistake in one of our orders. No problem, I've worked at a restaurant before, I know that these things can happen. Then my wife found a piece of plastic in her food. It was reasonably sized, but it was found before she choked on it. Again, no problem, no harm done, they offered to strike that order from the bill and give her something for free. So far so good. When we come to pay the bill, there are two waitresses there who are very insistent that we pay the extra for the mistaken order that the waiter brought, we explain that this is not realistic as we were brought something we did not order, that we were not able to eat anyway. The waitresses say very flippantly “Look, I'm not going to argue with you” when they realize that it's not our fault. This is the issue here, this terrible rude attitude. We were prepared to forgive the mistakes up until this point, but there's no excuse for bad manners, particularly in a workplace. If I were to say this to a customer at my job, I'd be fired. I have never written a bad review about any restaurants before as i usually incline to not write a review of the service if it was bad. I only write if the service was good but this time , the service was so bad that i had to warn others. The food arrived 1 hour after the app changed the delivery status to "delivered". The the delivery status its self changed about 30 minute of the updated delivery estimated time. I called th e resturant to clarify the reason of the delay but they told me the delivery is already on its way , we are 10 minutes drive away but it arrived in about 30 minutes after the call . Was it really on its way? I thought the food quality or quantity would make things better but it didnt . I have eaten before chicken teriyaki that didnt resembles this one even remotely. The food didnt taste nice the souce and the salade all mixed together with the chicken teriyaki in the same box. Definitely not...

This is my favorite restaurant!

Best sushi I ever had! And yes fair enough I never been to Japan, but I had sushi in many many places around UK and Europe and even Dubai, but nothing compares to Ichiban in Cardiff! I come at least once or 2wice a month and I am not a type of person who regularly come to any places. I like trying new things, new restaurants every time, but I just can't stay away from Ichiban.

I'll give you tip for perfect order: set meal 101, one portion of inari nigiri and one portion of tobiko nigiri. You'll leave full and satisfied as well with a portion size as variety of the meal.

However if you're not a fan of those things, they offer wide selection of sushi and other japanese dishes so everyone will find something for themselves. Texture of rice and slices of fish are rich and perfectly balanced.

There's a slight issue with heating in winter, so it can get quite cold, but I assure you...
