I don't know why I expected anything more from a Yates', but this particular branch is absolutely dreadful. Popped in midweek for a quiet drink with a friend, there was hardly anyone else in there so it was perfect for conversation. We went to sit at a table, only to find food all over the carpet underneath our chairs, so moved to a different area. I asked if it was ok to charge my phone as it was about to die and it was my only form of contact to get home. Was told this was fine, so charged it where we were sitting, only for it to be stolen when I went outside for a brief moment and, assuming it would be safe, stupidly left it charging. Asked to speak to the manager, was told by a girl who clearly had minimal intelligence, I'd have to phone the next day. Asked her to go and look at the CCTV, given that there wasn't anyone else in there, and was told it would need to be looked at by management the next day. I called the next morning to be told that management had looked at the CCTV (didn't believe it for a second) and that "that area wasn't covered by the camera's"... Despite it being right next door to the main entrance!! Was then told a completely different excuse moments later by a "manager" (again, this was highly doubtful, unless their "management" consists of brain dead clowns!) who informed me that a "large crowd had come in (on a Tuesday!!) and" blocked the camera from picking up that particular area". So basically one of the members of staff had, quite obviously, stolen my property upon seeing me leave without it. Other than that, which is enough of a reason not to return, the toilets were absolutely vile! They stank to high heaven, were filthy, and we had to complain to the barman that it was quite difficult to get past the door as someone had been sick all over the floor... At 8 o'clock on a Tuesday evening. Can't comment on the food as I have never, nor would I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFood to Die for - Literally. The food in this place must be the worst food I have ever had and having served in the military and traveled the world I can say this as I have eaten in a field better than this establishment. We took the worst decison to have our breakfast here, on a Sunday. The tables were scruffy and covered in drink stains from the previous night, which should have been a clue, to the food that was going to turn up. Two of us had the Tradition Breakfast, whilst a third had a Bavon Sandwich. The breakfast would have been Ok for a child portion, don't be fooled the four baked beans were hidden under the half cooked egg. The sausage tasted like it was reheated from the previous night and the mushroom had given up the ghost! As for the bacon sandwich again the bacon tasted like it had been reheated in a microwave and the bread was dry with a packet of hard butter on the side and we have had better at a supermarket cafe. We only ate it because were straight from the airport, otherwise it would have gone back, luckily the waitress neglected to ask how the meal was otherwise she would have been told in no certain terms. AVOID at all costs, the place is a bad advertisement to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWell what can I say, we booked a table for 5pm on Friday 10th November for 9 people. 3 staff and 6 adults with learning disabilities. When booking we were told that it would be busy, due to the Weston Carnival, we knew this as we were attending this event, hence why we booked somewhere to eat. On entering it was busy and there were 3 members of staff behind the bar, we were shown to our table, looked through the menu and went to the bar to order food and drinks, this being now 5 10. We were told there was a 45 minute wait on food, which was understandable due to the it being so busy. We waited and food seem to go out, but literally in 1 or 2 plates at a time to other tables. Our 1st meal was delivered to our table at 6.15 and then it was 1 or 2 plates every 10 minutes. Our last meal was delivered to our table at 7.05, we spoke to the manager a couple of times and were just fobbed off with we're busy, as it the carnival. Maybe more staff in the kitchen would have helped. (We even thought about going and cooking our own meals, would have been quicker). The carnival is a well publicised event. Will i be...
