Replying to the comment : firstly, I WAS NOT offered compensation at all, I was told “there is nothing we can do”. Secondly I didn’t finish the meal. But thank you for proving my point on how rude y’all where and still are. Clearly there are multiple reviews on you having done this before.

I barely do this but I think I had to for the way I was treated. This wasn’t my first time as I’ve enjoyed a mea here before. We waited in the queue for a table as usual, got a table, I ordered the special ( we saw picies on instagram) which was goat cheese and sweet butternut squash humus with pomegranate with toasted ciabatta. They served me a plate of 4 white bread rolled out flat with a little goat cheese on top and 4 drops of the hummus and that’s it. It was such a disappointment as the pictures on their Instagram and what I got served were two different things. As soon as I was served they cleared the board( I am assuming they had run out and just served whatever on the plate) . I expressed my disappointment to the staff-then the manager. The manager was extremely rude, I was being polite and said I didn’t want any compensation but I was very disappointed in the meal. She said the pictures on Instagram are only for picture purposes. You’re telling me you’re selling plain white bread instead of ciabatta and then have the audacity to argue with me and telling me that I’m wrong? I wish she had just acknowledged and apologised. You just lost two loyal customers. The waitress was nice enough to apologise but never ever...

Partner and I got in for the cafe opening and within 30 mins there were no tables to be had.

There's a sign as you enter that mentions you must wait to be seated which is nice as it removes any ambiguity. We were greeted instantly by one of the staff and seated promptly. As it was quite busy we waited around 5 mins then our order wad taken.

Menu has a fair few options, something for everyone I'd say and there is a specials board just near the front door on the wall. We settled for the Avo with a side of salmon and the Royale Eggs which were both pretty substantial. Prices are fair for the size of the plates and we had some macchiatos with the food and were given complimentary water before the meal.

The only thing that let's this place down is the food isn't as flavoursome as it appears, presentation is top notch but I'd definitely had tastier dishes elsewhere. I found it strange there was no salt or pepper on the tables too, seems fairly standard to have these on the tables without having to request them.

Cannot fault the staff or the service, we were mostly attended to by one host and he was very helpful and accommodating. Unfortunately the cafe is fairly small and there isn't a great deal of space or tables for that matter.

Finally parking can be a nightmare as the location is very busy from 9am onwards however this wouldn't deter me from visiting again as it's a lovely little cafe to drop in and try out especially if you are already...

UPDATE: They've kindly now given me a full refund.

The food was nice, I had berry compote pancakes, and they were tasty. However, I was slightly disappointed. On the menu, it stated that they were to come with a berry compote and granola, however I only received a berry compote. Having paid £7.50, I would have expected to receive both, if not some nuts as a replacement of the granola in case they'd run out, but I didn't - however I thought I'd just let them off with it considering they are finding their feet again. Unfortunately, once I'd left, I then saw ( on Instagram ) that it was standard to receive whipped cream & strawberries aswell- neither of which I received. So, I think it's fair to say that I shouldn't have paid the same amount for something as somebody else when I've had a much smaller portion. I also checked one of their recent Instagram posts about their post-lockdown menu, and the pancakes were priced at £7 instead of £7.50. It's ok if they had gone up in price, however I wasn't sure if I had maybe just been mischarged, so I DMd them on Instagram, but I've received no response. The food was nice, I just wish that they'd stated they had run out, and given me a discount, or simply reduced they're prices if they're not always going to be consistent with...

Urban West | Glasgow 📍 ad | You are looking at one of Glasgow’s most popular brunch spots @Urban West Glasgow ❤️ We love it here and used to be regulars when I lived in the West End, so we were delighted to be asked along for a visit! If you love brunch and haven’t been to Urban West then you need to get involved. The Mexican is chorizo, avocado, poached eggs, chipotle hollandaise on sourdough. I think it’s the chipotle hollandaise that gets me 🤤🤤🤤 They always have specials on the board which look unreal. Today I tried their iced strawberry and white chocolate mocha and loved it. We also got a chai latte and the flavours were gorggg. You absolutely need to try it here, but be aware it gets busy on the weekends 🙌🏼🙌🏼 Thanks to @TAKT Agency for organising 🥰🥰 #brunch #glasgow #restaurant #recommendations #goldentastyfoodie

URBAN WEST - GWR Is there any better meal than brunch? No as all meals were created equal, and it would be unfair to say any one is better than another. That said I do love going out for brunch! We booked for Urban West and I'm glad we did as the place quickly filled up. We were well accomodated too as we had our little boy in his pushchair and this isn't the biggest cafe. We had to scan a QR code for the menu which is a good little feature for the current climate. I loved the sound of the bagel, however I have had serious cravings for hot smoked salmon so I wss delighted they had royale eggs benedict. Kristina went for the Mexican benedict and we couldn't resist a side of berry compote pancakes, to share of course. The eggs Royale was exactly what I wanted. Plenty of salmon, perfect poached egg and tangy hollandaise sauce. This was all placed on a generous slice of sourdough toast and it was perfect. I tried Kristina's which was nice but I always feel I have to be in the mood for avo. The pancakes were top notch and the compote was great too. All in all a solid brunch that set us up for the day and would definitely return to sample some more on the menu!
