This used to be a really good place for a pub lunch and a cheap and cheerful pint, but it has been steadily going downhill since the Greene King takeover. Prices are higher than in Ashton Lane and quality does not match.

Today we came during a hour long break during a conference around the corner for what we hoped would be a quick pub lunch. We picked a table in a quiet corner with the TV turned off so no annoying screen, within less a minute a member of staff helpfully turned up just to turn it on and disappeared again. Oh well. That was the only thing that happened promptly. The place was half empty but it took between 20 and 50 minutes to be served food, the full portions for some reason came out last so the hungriest people had to wait the longest and then had to chuck the entire meal down within 5 minutes, while those who ordered only a small snack already finished it ages ago. When we checked if the last meal was coming as it has been 45 minutes since it was ordered, five minutes since the previous plate arrived, and still no update, we were told "in two minutes" and five minutes later still nothing. Not sure we will be back and not sure if I could currently recommend this place to anyone else - unless you have a few hours to kill.

EDIT: took off one star after the response of management - I thought we were just spectacularly unlucky but it turns out that they chose to understaff the place on what they expected to be a busy day, which is highly unfair to staff. Also orders were put in individually because most of us ordered food via the app and grabbed a drink from the bar - so no, we were not told it was 40...

If I could give 0 star I would! I had arranged a booking for 30 people upstairs a week before and I went in morning to make sure everything is ok to go ahead. I saw a big table upstairs set I asked a girl at bar to speak to manager to make sure the big table will be set for us and she said manager is not here yet but she will pass my request.

When I arrived on time and went upstairs I noticed too many tables set more than usual day and some people gathering on the big table . Once everyone from my group arrived we had to sit on separate tables that was unacceptable. We tried to move tables to get closer to each other then we could talk .our tables were set in front of TV where other people around big table were watching footbal match and every time we were walking around our tables to talk or change seats they were shouting at us, surely waitress/waiter who set the tables should know not put table in front of TV when a group booked!!! We ordered food and unfortunately lasagna wasn’t good and warm enough so she complained and manager came to see what the issue is, when she said to her the lasagna was not good she said aggressively nobody complained about our lasagna, do you want refund???? that is what she said but when my friend said no I don’t want refund then she changed her attitude and said sorry!!! I can’t believe a manager deal with problem in this way it is supposed the customer is right and manager should be the one try to be calm in this situation not...

We booked a table ahead of time as we know it can get a little busy it was extremely busy, rugby was on so was packed with supporters and there was also a 30th so was extremely loud couldn’t hear each other talk, when we arrived there was no host stand so we were stood at the bar for 20 minutes trying to get someones attention my husband finally waved someone down they come over to him told him they are busy my husband said “yeah I can see that but we've booked a table and we’ve been waiting 20 minutes” the guy huffed said he would be back, 10 minuted later he comes back said there wasn't a reservation for us so my husband had to show him the email we were then told there wasn't an available table for 6 of us they were trying to get one, waited another 15 minutes for a table finally got one and took forever for food & drink to come I can’t personally vote on the food I didn’t get anything but people who I was with said they enjoyed it, they had finished their food and our drinks still hadn’t arrived the price for the food and drink was ridiculously over priced especially for how long we were waiting just not worth...

I need to share this review: I've watched most games of Euro 2020 in this amazing pub, including the final in which they gave us mad Italians a great table. Every time I went there, whenever the TV sound was too low, I've asked then to put a bit up and they always did. The pub itself is amazing, anywhere you're sit you can see a screen. Best pulled pork nachos ever. And I have to say the manager is one of the friendliest. He was always working hard to check with everybody, and he let us make a great party for the win \o/ I'm so glad I chose this pub to be the place I could see gli Azzurri winning. Grazie tante ragazzi!!! <3

Love the Cooper's. ♥️ 1 of my favourite places to eat/drink out.😃👍🥗🍝🍾🍸 Was there recently with my family, celebrating my 31st. Had a Mac and cheese with salad & garlic bread meal. 🍝🥗Also i had a sparkling prosecco rose with my meal. 🍸🍾Then I had a pink G&T (gin and tonic). 🍹I've Been to the Cooper's restaurant many times in the past. But i think it was the first time since about last year, since I last set foot at the Cooper's. It's been ages. But the Food & drinks is lovely as always. 5 out of 5 stars from me. 😃⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Awesome place. Great value for money. I went there for breakfast, dinner and just evening drinks and the vibes were always great. Very friendly staff and yummy food. The atmosphere for live sports screenings are great and who doesn’t like an early pint when on holiday??
