It comes to something when a member of staff thinks they know more than you do, I was aiming to see the self order\check outs near the doors had gone to, and he was really pushing for an argument, as he said their were none, he then offered up the drinks area thinking that be what I meant, fair enough it was a valid thought, but I said No, the machines right where we stood.
So I explained that you used to use them to order and pay for your food, after which you went to the serving area, and wait to collect it, to which he said I was wrong, there had 'Never' been such a thing there.
I told him he was wrong, and that I had used them there, my wife had used them there, as well as my daughter, to which he started yet again to say there had Never such a system there, and he further went to justify himself by saying how long he had worked there, but cut himself short, as if he remembered something before he said how long he had been there.
Then to add insult to injury they had no hot drinks, and the food was warm and barely edible, near cold and the BBQ Chicken burger had filling falling out everywhere, and all I could taste was mayo, but to be fair there was a few brown drips from one end of the burger, but zero taste.
I know I should have complained, but I hadn't slept due to pain, and had just done 120 miles, and had another 120 miles later, so I was in no frame of mind to deal with another member of staff, I just wanted to get out of there ASAP, so I could get some more of my pain meds (and I am on top shelf meds, a cocktail of over 9,500 pills a year), plus another 7.2 ltrs a year of top shelf stuff, and it barely touches me, I just wanted out, and I certainly won't be going back, it's gone to far...
Read moreThis particular Burger King has always been a noisy place if you get your timing wrong. This visit was like visiting a crèche for feral children with no supervision evident. That, however, isn't the real issue with this place when we called in...
The 'staff' at the counters all looked as though they didn't want to be there and did it show in the way they went about their business. They were firstly SO SLOW. Being slow you'd expect them to do things properly. Things like getting the orders correct, serving food that isn't cold and remembering everything on the order. Seriously-how can the person handing out the orders forget one of the 2 drinks? The napkin dispenser-yes, just the one for the whole place-had clearly been empty for a while because there was a pack of napkins on the counter with napkins everywhere. Our food was cold and looked like the burgers had been put together in a burger throwing contest. One of the girls behind the counter was reluctantly refilling a cooler containing bottles of juice drinks. She dropped the shrink wrapped pack of drinks on the floor and ended up throwing some of them into the bin. Nobody looked interested in doing their jobs. I would normally say something to a manager but like the staff-I couldn't be bothered. We were on our way home from our holiday, setting off to the departure airport early in the morning. It had been a long day so a quick burger seemed like a good plan. It wasn't. It'll be a long time before I set foot in...
Read moreVery slow service for a fast food joints. The order and collection system is terrible. Your receipt has a number and you have to hang around until someone (with a strong non-English accent) calls it out, and does it without too much volume. What's more, some receipts have nice short 4-digit numbers and others might have 6 digits. Being a noisy place, you can imagine a load of orders that just pile up because no one can hear their number or aren't bothered to pay attention. The self-service soft drinks machine is a nice idea but out of 3 machines, when one is out of order, another doesn't dispense ice and the third one doesn't have a few drinks available, you're left hopping from one to the other to satisfy the demands of your children's requests. Finally, I generally like the flame grilled BK flavour but the overpriced Texas BBQ King didn't boast anything out of the ordinary so it left me very disappointed. The fries slightly redeemed the whole experience. Being a tad chunkier than the McD's variety, they've never been one to compete on the flavour-texture front in my opinion, but it seems to me that they may have changed the potato used since I last ate them because I found them nice and crunchy and with good flavour akin to McD's (my fave). Anyway, in summary, I think they ought to adopt a similar system to most McD's these days and have the 'Ready Now' number displayed rather than rely on someone trying hopelessly to...
