The good - The service was good, friendly, attentive but not intrusive and solved some problems quickly.

The bad - For the best part of £100 the food was terrible. If you want good Thai food go elsewhere.

We ordered a Chang, which came warm, but the waiter swapped this quickly for a cold one so full marks here.

Starter - Street Food Sharing platter - This was overly greasy and all tasted of oil which was a shame.

Marinated Steak & Crispy Slow Cooked Beef - Low quality steak entirely made of sinew. Sticky Chicken and a portion of Pak Choi and Tenderstem- Arrived stone cold. We raised this with the waiter, who took it back to the kitchen. 5 minutes later, they returned to the table proclaiming "straight from the Wok", with bowls that were too hot for them to touch and some very soggy microwaved food. The Chicken included the small piece of napkin that fell into it when it was first delivered. The chicken had managed to avoid the microwave blast and had achieved lukewarm chewy status. At this point we called it a night and left.

All in all, we were looking forward to a bit of a treat and for the sum of £100 the only tasty/edible bits were the rice and pork skewers the rest will be consigned to the rubbish. Very disappointing and we definitely won't be...

Looking at the other reviews, I think we were just unlucky. The food is tasty but… we waited nearly an hour for our mains and when they arrived it was all ā€œwarmā€ not hot. My mum’s fish was thin, tough and cold, my daughter’s massaman curry was warm sauce but the chicken was cold. It wasn’t room temperature cold, it was actually cool to touch. As if the cooked chicken had been in a fridge beforehand. Do you cook the chicken separately or something then keep it in the fridge and place on top of cooked curry sauce before serving? That’s all I can conclude after such an experience. I had to return it as I was so worried about my child getting sick. I’m not saying that’s what would have happened but in my head, if a chicken dish comes out and the sauce is warm and the chicken is cool to touch in some parts then I am not risking feeding that to a 6yr old. I would really love to know how it’s prepared so it eases my mind. Food overall wasn’t hot in general so maybe it was left out too long on the serve by accident because the waiters were too busy. Who knows. They got her a fresh bowl nonetheless. Service was too slow and overall, we were a little disappointed and will probably try a different...

I wasn't in the mood for Thai but I looked at the menu and changed my mind instantly! They set us on a nice table but I was feeling cold there with the draft so I asked if they have a warmer area in the restaurant. It was quite busy on Saturday night but they did what they could in such a short time. We changed table to a warmer area. We ordered a Malbec wine which costed us £25, it was very quality wine! Was craving chicken wings so I got them as a starter with vegetarian spring rolls. As the English say, they were peng, really good! Our main courses were the fishing village and Pad King with brown rice on the side. My friend loved the fishing village and I had the Pad King. It didn't appeal to me when I saw it but I was wrong. Both main course were super good! Even though by then the restaurant was almost empty since it was late, the staff still asked us if we want desert and we had what they suggested. Forgot the name of it but its like a chocolate cake with melted chocolate inside. Mouthwatering! Thank you for such great service, you made part of our...

We enjoyed a Christmas party here last weekend. The food was good and the staff were mainly friendly and helpful. The festive Christmas menu was varied and the portion sizes were very generous. Particular highlights were the tiger prawns, beef red curry and the pork hock - all super delicious and flavourful. The only issue I had was that our table of 11 were squeezed into a tight space with several other tables of diners just to the left of the entrance. It would have been good to have had some more space as it was difficult for people to pass by, in particular the waiting staff. What was even more surprising was that there were areas of the restaurant not being utilised and were completely empty. Had we have been given one of these tables it would have made for a more pleasant experience for our group which is why I’ve taken off 1 star. Nonetheless, we all enjoyed the food and would definitely return.

On a Thursday, we visited this establishment and found it to be quite relaxing. Unlike our previous attempt on a weekend, when we had to wait approximately an hour for our meal due to the significant crowd, the establishment was not excessively crowded on this occasion. The establishment itself is characterized by its simplicity, yet it exudes a pleasant ambiance. The staff demonstrated exceptional friendliness and warmth in welcoming us. However, the culinary offerings are the primary highlight of this establishment. The meat was exceptionally tender, and the sauces complemented the rice perfectly with their exquisite flavors. Although the pricing is slightly higher than average, the overall experience warrants a return visit.

My wife was very keen to visit Giggling Quid, we opted to book a table at the Guildford branch. Great venue tucked away a road with lots of other restaurants. Food was fantastic and I particularly liked that there is a lunch tapas that suits me in that I can sample different starters and mains without ordering too much. Just the right amount! Lovely smiling and attentive staff that made the experience even more enjoyable. My wife particularly liked the rose on offer! I found Chang beer too "fizzy" to go with the meals we had (Cobra may have been a little more suited for my tastes). All in all, a great restaurant. Will I visit again....absolutely!!
