T4 Guildford — Restaurant in Guildford

I have been visiting T4 Guildford at the first time with my son today (around 2.10pm) and we had a very bad experience. There was no welcome greeting or any smile when we entered the small shop and the staff looked very stressed.

There have only one self service terminal where a couple were hesitating what to order. We were ready to order our one drink but the person at the till has refused us to place our order with her to speed up things even they have a terminal at the till too.

I was not happy but accepted to wait thinking they might want to keep serving in an arrival order, instead of speeding things up. We have received order No 129. That was fine until someone else entered the shop after us and she got the order No 130 .

It was extremely hot inside the shop so we had to step outside on the street while we were waiting for our drink. For my surprise then order No 130 was called in front of us leaving me angry not to be served by arrival order at the end. The drink is very expensive there (we have paid for one single tea £7.20) and with this, you supposed to provide outstanding customer service experience to make sure people will return. We will not. First time ever visiting this store. We visited today (15/03/2024) at 15:00. The moment we entered the two servers completely ignored us. No welcome or simple recognition we were there despite being right in front of us. We said hello and gave our order and asked for two caramel pearl milk teas with no ice and extra sugar. The server abruptly and rudely said we can’t change anything about the drink and that it was a pre-made drink. We then proceeded to watch her manually make the drink and put excessive amounts of ice in. We didn’t want to kick up a fuss because it was clear the server was unwilling to help and very rude so we just left.

We regularly visit the T4 store in Birmingham and they allow us to customise the exact same drink. We’re unhappy we couldn’t customise the drink in a store that encourages customisation and the disgusting rudeness from the server. It didn’t just feel like she was being rude, it felt like she personally hated us or some had kind of problem with us being in the store. The way we were treated really upset my girlfriend on what was meant to be a nice day out.

Today i ordered a medium taro milk tea but it tasted SO PLAIN, as if it was only water with subtle taro powder, although i asked for 100% sugar and 30% ice (so it can’t have been because of melted ice) and i used to be a regular here, the taro milk tea was always tasty so i’m not sure what happened but i was extremely disappointed.
