NAZAR is a Turkish restaurant that offers a truly authentic and delightful dining experience. From the moment you enter, the warm, inviting atmosphere and traditional Turkish decor create a sense of being transported to the heart of Turkey.

The menu is a rich tapestry of flavors, showcasing the best of Turkish cuisine. I started with the mezze platter, which was an exquisite assortment of hummus, baba ghanoush, dolmas, and freshly baked pita bread. Each bite was a harmonious blend of spices and textures, setting the stage for the rest of the meal.

For the main course, I chose the lamb shish, and the lamb was marinated to perfection, tender and succulent, served with aromatic rice and a refreshing cucumber yogurt sauce. The flavors were bold yet balanced, a testament to the chef’s skill and dedication to authenticity.

The beverage selection includes a variety of Turkish wines and traditional drinks like ayran and Turkish tea. I opted for the ayran juice, which was refreshing and complemented the meal beautifully.

The service is exceptional. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to share their love for Turkish cuisine. Our server was particularly helpful in explaining the dishes and recommending pairings, ensuring that our dining experience was both enjoyable and educational.

Had a meal here on Friday 9th Nov 2018. Absolutely wonderful experience which is what a meal out should be.The food was freshly cooked, full of flavour and one of the best Turkish meals I have ever had. The service was excellant and when I requested an extra serviette it was presented on a clean towel. I am very hot on hygiene and cleanliness and this restaurant is on top of this. Very generous and given a liqueur at the end on the house. I always find this to be a very kind and much appreciated gesture from an establishment and goes a long way with a customer I think. A gesture which has been lost over the years swallowed up in a time now, of just taking your money and giving minimum return and value. I am a passionate and well established cook myself and it is very rare for me to find good, tasty, fresh, different, value for money, food out. Had a very pleasant set meal for 15 following our wedding at Hastings registry office, an early dinner at 5.30 and were there until after 8.

Have always enjoyed the food here, although sometimes service could be better, but on this occasion we were more than happy with the service.

The table hadn't been prepared and laid ready for us on arrival, which we thought it could have been as they knew we were coming, but it didn't cause any issues to our enjoyment.

One of our party has food sensitivities and they listened to their needs and provided a separate dinner for them.

Also for our elder guests they swapped out chairs to ones with arm rests which they could use to help them get out of their seats when needed.

They were very happy to reduce the music volume when asked, so that we could talk and listen to each other more easily.

We are always greeted with enthusiasm, and are bid farewell gratefully.
