I was in around the festive season. The music was awful. Some niche sound, where the DJ playing clearly thought he was playing to his mates in his front room. The DJ was terribly rude to one of my friends when they asked him a question. When I complained to the manager about how rude and aggressive he was, she told me it was out of her hands, and to write a bad review. So, here I am. There was a really nice young (potentially camp – not sure how to describe them) he/them behind the bar, that was very friendly and helpful.
The DJ was ... I want to say maybe a Nigerian man, in his 50s.He wears glasses and has a beard. He really brought bad energy and it was Christmas. He was litterally shouting at us when he was in the background of one of our photos, clearly he had something to hide. I just thought it was interesting how protected by the management staff he was, considering he was being so unreasonable. Even the security were rolling their eyes at him. I did not feel listened to or respected. I've worked on many late night bars, and I understand the difficulty of dealing with challenging drunk customers, but I was not one of them. I don't drink.
I've never expected much from Yates, but I was very disappointed by the way the managing staff handled the situation, considering my respectful group of friends were the few people in there that night and we spent a lot of money. I would never go back again, and for so many other reasons, I'd advise you: DON'T BOTHER. Weatherspoons, The Crypt, Bat & Bee are all far more lively, friendly and fun places to have a night out in Hastings, all in a 30...
Read moreI would suggest making it clearer when tablets are taken by making sure tablets what are ment to be reserved has got a reserved sign on the table as we had to be moved due to table being reserved but didn't have reserved sign on the table. The pub looks very nice itself and have some lovely people in there, workers could be more nicer than they were though. Also I would like to say thankyou for the lovely uncooked burgers me, my boyfriend and friend got and what did get sent back to be recooked for us to eat overall they did look nice until I saw the blood on my friends burger and noticing the pinkness on all, even after the staff had recooked our burger's there were still pink uncooked. Me and my boyfriend now have got absulute terrible belly ache and feel very queezy sick. Furthermore it was very nice of you to argue back when we took back the food when we noticed how pink it was, You might have rushed due to football but what if I was pregnant or someone else pregnant ate one of...
Read moreWeirdest experience of my life.. ordered our food and on the menu it states each burger comes with a drink. Ordered at the till to be told this isn't correct, their head office don't allow them to do the deal.. false advertisement 🙄 anyway, ordered what we wanted and waited. Whilst waiting, there was 2x girls behind us that looked no older, both drunk.. a 60 year old man on the table next to them went over and started talking to them about their 'lady items'. When the girls kicked off, they was told off by security so we stepped in and was told they couldn't kick him out because he's a regular.. they seem to let any old weirdos in off the street tbh, it was quite amusing 🤣 food came, chicken burger was nice but chips were very bland. No seasoning and had just been thrown in an oven 🤣 we tried to eat as quick as possible so we could get out of there.. personally will not be going back but it's cheap so would be good on a...
