The Owl & Pussycat Lounge — Restaurant in Hastings

Absolutely awful. This restaurant was chosen for my works Christmas party and was asked to pay a deposit and then it was our choice whether to pay in full which I did. unfortunately I have become very ill the week leading up to the party and was unable to attend. When calling the restaurant they were extremely rude and said what's your name, I'll take your name off the list! And I asked about the money and they told me none of the money was refundable. I explained that my other colleague would be taking my place and she said that I still couldn't have my money and if I was going to be ill and couldn't attend I should have told her theee weeks ago. I have organised events here previously and brought money into their business - although service turned it to be poor that time too. But what a way to treat people. They weren't interested. Was more interested in scrapping the money off the tables than giving abit of service. Will not be returning nor will we be having a Christmas meal as a...

Pathetic scene last night from security idjit. I recently had a fall so I cant walk well on my knee. I ordered a rum cola yesterday and I was expected to sit down and drink it. I briefly nodded off, security guy came over and asked me to leave, which in itself isnt a major issue. But he was really hetzing me about it even though I told him at some volume I was going (and I was well awake then by the way). As I was walking out he then started manhandling and pushing me...WELL OUT OF ORDER...its not like I was causing trouble..all i had done was NODDED OFF!!. There are steep stairs going out of that place, if I had fallen on my bad knee down those stairs I think that place would have had a serious lawsuit against it. If a woman had been handled that way they might have had other problems too. I expect an apology from management...

My wife and I at the Owl and Pussycat Lounge last night to celebrate our daughter's 30th birthday.

We had for our mains sea bass and king prawns followed by the Eton mess desert. The two main were good, but the Eton mess was one of the very best we have ever had.

The meal was lovely, the atmosphere and the service was excellent. Even though it was a party of 20 the staff managed really well.

The only thing that I felt was that was missing was that there should have been some dip in sauces to go with the prawns, (like the starter version of the prawns), perhaps that could be added to the menu at some time.

Other than that we would recomend the Owl & Pussycat Lounge. We will certainly be going back for another meal in the near future.
