This place is a family favourite for good reason. The food: Chicken tikka; this is one of the few places you wont find tikka masala that tastes like a spoonful of sugar. The chicken is perfectly grilled to be still tender and juicy, It's got that mild spice and creaminess to it with that hint of sweetness. I dont know what possessed me to even order it because I'd normally get something like biriyani, dosa or bhuna sharabi from an Indian but I really enjoyed it and will likely end up ordering it again. Lamb chops; these were just falling off the bone they were that tender, I do wish the onions were cooked just slightly longer so they were a little softer but they were still just as delicious as the lamb. Chilli cheese naan; I mean spice and cheese always go great together, it was really satisfying, definitely the kind of spice that builds up as you eat it haha, the cheese made me wish id ordered some paneer as well it was really tastey. Plain naan; it's a naan, theres not really much to say. Both naans were perfectly cooked, soft and not burnt even on the edges. Chips; I ordered these for my dad as you could give him a mint yogurt and he would say it was Spicy but I ended up eating these too, Im really picky about chips but these were crisp on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside, a couple were soggy but that happens, thumbs up for these as well.
Delivery time; food came in a perfectly reasonable amount of time and the driver was polite (someone tell him he can not stop in disabled bays though before he gets a massive fine).
Overall really pleased with the quality of the food, the portions and the price. Really reccomend...
Read moreWe took some friends as we had been so impressed when we ate here in the past. Unfortunately we spent most of the evening waiting for food to arrive and, when it did, serving all eight of us took in excess of five minutes so our food cooled whilst we waited for all of us to be served. Our first course, poppadoms, was forgotten by the staff and we had to ask where they were. When they arrived they were served with woefully insufficient amounts of dips. An hour had passed by the time these arrived. We then waited and waited and ........ Starters arrived in dribs and drabs. Mine were cold by the time all of us were served. We then waited and .... etc. Our mains arrived in dribs and drabs. Meanwhile there was a busy procession of white carrier bags making their way towards the front of the takeaway. I refuse to use the word restaurant to describe the place as we diners plainly had to wait whilst the shop fulfilled its take away orders. There was at least one extended period of time when no one in the room had anything on the table to eat but still the procession of take aways continued. This was once such a good place to eat but it seems to have lost its way. The food is still excellent but the whole experience is ruined by the appalling service. It really must decide whether it is a restaurant or a take away : on tonight's showing it can't be both. On tonight's showing I won't...
Read moreWe recently dined the experience was nothing short of fantastic. The Tilapia Pollichathu, wrapped in banana leaf, was a true standout – the fish was perfectly cooked and infused with rich spices, making every bite a delight.
The Nalla Elumbu had meat that was so tender and flavorful, the texture still lingers in my mouth!
The Chicken Tikka Masala was perfectly spiced, and the Family Dosa was huge, crispy, and paired excellently with the chutneys and sambar. We also savored the Sambar Vada and Rasam, both bringing comforting, authentic South Indian flavors to the table.
The Chilli Chips, Paneer Tikka, and Kalan Melagu Pirattal added some great variety, while the Chilli Garlic Fish had the perfect balance of heat and flavor. The Chicken 65 was crispy and addictive, and the Grilled Platter for 2 offered a great selection of meats, each grilled to perfection.
The Chicken Kothu Parotta was a delicious medley of spices and textures, and the Seabass Varuthathu and Nandu Puttu were uniquely flavorful, showcasing the chef’s mastery over traditional dishes.
To round off the meal, we indulged in their homemade Mango and Pistachio Kulfi, which was rich, creamy, and refreshing without being too sweet – the perfect dessert.
Overall, the food, service, and atmosphere were all exceptional, making 7 H Spices a fantastic place for a special dining experience. We can’t...
