White Bear — Restaurant in Hinckley and Bosworth

I rarely rate below 4 stars. To extra clear on closing times. As we where forced out. There final orders are around 10.30 on a weekend and they close at 11. They will kick you out no matter what at 11.30. The menu online will not be the menu at the bar. The menu at the bar currently is missing both vegi and vegan ratings along with calories across all foods. Some foods are vegan or vegi but they use the term "plant based" but this doesn't cover fries. The beer is good and the staff overall are friendly and service is good. The reason for the low rating. Told at 11pm by bar staff at our table it's last orders and final leaving time was 12. a few from our group went up to order last round and sat back down with drinks at 11.15. Where told at 11.20 by the bouncer they are closed and we will be required to leave by 11.30. Most of the table had only just started drinking the "last orders drink". At 11.28 the bouncer stood behind the table reminding us that they are closed and required us to leave then forcing us out at 11.30 on the dot. Normally I wouldn't mind, I understand closing times and final orders but asking us to buy a round, then telling us we all needed to drink up in 10 minutes is a complete money grab. If you give people final orders give them the bloody chance to drink the drink. Left...

Tonight we set out to try the new baron pub. But we were luckily turned away because we had a dog.

I say luckily as we then set off to find somewhere else to go for dinner that we hadn't tried and came accross your wonderful pub.

The staff were exceptionally friendly, welcomed us and our fur baby into this gorgeously decorated pub, gave Bella some fuss and provided a fantastic service throughout.

Barman had a nice chat to me about the different bears on tap and what's good on the menu. Had a great pint of 5% steaming billy ale that was recommended and a even nicer burger.

We also order fully loaded nachos, often being dissapointed by this on many menus, I can honestly say it was incredible! A mountain of cheese, gorgeous pulled pork and nachos underneath. It might just be a slice of heaven in hinckley!

Unreal, thank you guys for turning our night round. From nearly going home to leftovers to a rare date night for me and the wife with our fur baby.

Four of us arrived at 9.10pm, two couples. We were greeted and seated at a dirty table, and had ordered drinks by 9.15pm. Drinks finally arrived at our table at 9.30pm, despite having been sat on the bar since 9.20pm, one metre away from us. One drink had to be exchanged because the glass was filthy with the lipstick residue of a previous patron. At 9.40pm the bouncer began shouting at us to finish our drinks, while the bar staff continued to pour pints for other customers. We politely replied a number of times that we would most definitely have left the pub by 10pm. As we and others left at 9.55pm, the landlord loudly and ludicrously informed his customers that "the police are on their way". For some reason, The White Bear seems quite insistent that the Covid-19 restrictions will turn your evening into an unpleasant ordeal. If they are so conscious of the need to avoid spreading this virus, perhaps they should spend more time cleaning glasses and tables than shouting...
