I’ve always loved Tarro Lounge and come in fairly regularly but based on our experience last Sunday the food quality has seriously gone downhill.
At £5.50 for a sausage sandwich, the portion size (one sausage between two slices of bread) would have been a little bit disappointing if it was cooked well but the single sausage was literally inedible. It was so dried up and burned that I couldn’t even chew it. Honestly can’t believe it was cooked by an adult, let alone a chef - or allowed to leave the kitchen, it really was that terrible. I can only assume it had been microwaved to death or had been sat under a heat lamp for hours or that was someone else’s leftovers fished out the bin and reheated. I have no idea how anyone could cook a sausage so awfully.
Politely pointed it out when the plates were collected and got no explanation or apology for the poor food (when I told her it was inedible she remarked “I can see that!”) and my Facebook message sent later that day remains ignored 7 days later despite the auto reply saying someone will respond within 48 hours.
We didn’t want to make a fuss and I can’t believe I’m leaving a negative review for what was previously my go to place in town for coffee and food but it really was that bad. I’d filled myself up on a side of hash browns so didn’t want it replacing and would’ve been happy with an explanation of what had gone wrong, an offer of a refund (which I’d likely decline if there was a reasonable explanation) or a simple apology but without any response at all I can only assume that’s the standard to expect now and I’d no longer recommend what was previously a great place to eat.
I don’t think I’ve ever left a negative review in my life but as a fairly regular customer, being ignored after reaching out over our bad experience has...
Read moreWe arrived at 9am for an hours study session as we have done so many times before with only 3 table occupied we could pick where to sit. We opted for a large table at the back so we could fit in our drinks and laptop. A staff member approached us and asked us not to sit at the back as he was expecting large groups. We of course sat on a smaller table. However other 2 person groups were allowed to sit on the larger table and not moved on-this made us feel quite singled out and the only reservation sign nearby was another larger table that said it was reserved for 1.30pm.
In addition to this the oat milk provided with out teas was curdling in the sea significantly (staff member was in agreement it was not right)-I know this can happened with some oat milks but this was happening to the degree here was large lumps forming. We returned the tea and milk and were given fresh oat milk, however the same happened again and staff said they had tried the milk themselves and there was no issue-I asked for a different alternative milk as the oat milk was still curdling but was not replied to.
We were then brought fresh teas with new oat milk-however it was STILL happening-I didnt drink my tea as it was unpleasant and I cannot stand lumps in my tea so we decided to leave.
Really disappointed as we paid over £6 for undrinkable teas and were the only couple turned away from a...
Read moreVisited on Sunday 15 December 2019 for brunch The service was atrocious, food was ordered at 11.15, drinks arrived within 10 minutes however our food was still not with us at 12.00 we were just about to complain and a waitress came over and apologised about delay and offered more drinks on the house, we accepted. A few minutes later food arrive, nothing special and certainly not worth best part of an hour wait, we ate our food and left before the free drinks arrived !!!!! This is not good customer service and this company need to learn how to cope with cooking basic food and getting it out on time.
Number of points also noted:
All in all not a great experience and one we will not be undertaken again for some time. Sorry Zinco Lounge but you have a...
