Nice restaurant setting with comfortable seating areas. Food was good quality. I had a steak and cheese sourdough sandwich with chips, and the other dish was a pasta dish with a red sauce and salad ( I can't remember its name ) Along with a Tiramasu espresso martini and a fruit punch mocktail. ( Not 100% sure of that's its name ) Staff were well mannered and friendly. Didn't have to wait too long for drinks and food to be served. But I feel if it was busy, you'd be waiting maybe a little longer than you'd want. The cocktail and mocktail were very nice and I'd have again. Along with the food good decent quality. But...... unfortunately, I dont feel they offer value for money. For the quality and quantity of the food, the price point was a tad too high. For 2 drinks and 2 mains it was a few pence short of £50 ( This included a 10% service charge. ) For example it's about about £5 for a side of chips with your main. ( large handful at best.) I'd expect for that for the chips to be included in the price. Also, upon ordering we had to wait for cesar sald dressing for one main and I had ordered sweet potato fries as my side and was given normal chips. I did point this out and they apologised and gave a small discount but also offered to do the sweet potato still. ( I declined because I'd only have to wait for them to be cooked and was already eating ) Waiting to ask and Pay for he bill took a little long than I wanted so I had to take myself to to bar and ask someone to take my money. ( Personal annoyance. Once you've eaten, you just want to go ) Overall, a decent experience and price point is far too high for what they offer for me to return. I must point out they do have offers on before 5pm that I think is about 20% less in price... so based on that maybe I'd pop back for a bite.

Wildwood is a really amazing restaurant located in the Crescent on a Hinckley, we have been going there for years and while we don’t visit as much as we used to, when we do, we are still always impressed with its quality. Their menu is full of great Italian dishes, pizza and calzone are so good there, if you haven’t had a calzone before, try one! Their burgers are also really great and we had a steak there before that was also excellent. Their Phillly Cheesesteak sandwich is also superb, the steak is always cooked to perfection and the bread to meat ratio is always spot on. They also have a great wine selection and their cocktails are also really good, especially the expresso martini. One thing I wish they brought back is the baked Brie starter, it was the best thing ever! They do a Camembert starter now but it’s just not quite the same. The restaurant itself is really inviting and well decorated, it has a really great atmosphere and we have had so many great date nights and family meals there over the years. The staff are always excellent, friendly and attentive and when we were going there more often we got to know a few of them who Willa always welcome us back. Really great restaurant, go check it out, you won’t regret it!

Further to my last review. I would consider Wildwood a very calm place to enjoy the company you are with, this time with my daughter. The atmosphere of the welcoming from the staff and of course the delightful warmth of the music and the interior. The warmth of the staff on this occasion, was Dean, who made the whole experience a delight. I again l ordered the mushrooms and stake sandwich. And to my amazement l was not disappointed. My daughter ordered the Chicken salad. The service and presentation where second to non. My daughter was a amazed that her food was, her words "this is outstanding". Probably one of the best stake sandwiches ever! Starter, Baked mushrooms with pesto. The main, Stake sandwiched served between two sourdough slices, with a light crisp lettuce, red onion..with a smear of light mayonnaise...and a drizzle of chilli oil. Excellent food from a very fine restaurant. My appreciation goes to the head chef and staff for a marvellous experience and a fine evening. Even on leaving it was a farewell and hope to see you again service.

How is it possible to have fantastic food, great and friendly service and a lovely facility but only 1 star ? Easy. I would give less if I could. How dare a facility AUTOMATICALLY add a service charge / tip? Your company policy of presumption is disgusting.

I always tip 20% in cash to the server directly. But your AUTOMATIC presumption is totally wrong. This is clearly a senior management policy - and not the hard worker at the shop front. And don’t bother if your reply is going to be “well you can ask to have it removed” no one with any social responsibility will ask for this. So - great food, great service, clean facility. But I won’t go back, ever and won’t recommend your company - management presumption of an automatic service charge, really ? Can you seriously imagine any company outside the metropolitan elite London inner circle doing this ? Of course not but you have managed it at a local small town restaurant- terrible business policy.

Edit

Clearly you have chosen to miss read my review !! At NO stage did I say I was unhappy with your service - the service, the food, the facilities the servers - all first rate and all fantastic - so stop twisting my words and review.

I was very clear that your companies automatic presumption of an automatic 10% service charge was unacceptable. Let me be very clear what the problem is. I tip 20% cash directly to the server. The presumption of service is DISGUSTING.

Will I ever go back - no! Your management need to get a grip of both policies and your reply to my review. Pity as was food is great - the servers friendly and a great clean facility. A 5 star facility receiving a 1 star review. Management are...

Enjoyed lunch here. 2 course. Staff very friendly and informative. On presentation of menus (disposable ones!) waiting staff marked menus with any dishes or drinks that weren't available. That's good.. How many times have you been presented with a menu and spent time deciding on what you would like only to be told later that "x" isn't available? Food was served in reasonable time and all nice and hot. Enjoyed baked camembert with toasted sour dough as a starter. Had the Burger and fries as a main. Burger was OK I guess..I mean it's a burger after all so I am not going to wax lyrical over it or knock it for that matter. I don't normally endorse "plate furniture" but the fries would have looked better presented in a vessel sat on the plate rather than sparsely spread across a large dining plate. Keeps them warmer for longer too. Everything went down well and nice surprise at the end of the meal when on receipt of the bill we realised that the restaurant was still offering discounted rates in these Covid-19 days that we live in. Oh and before sign off I would mention that staff all wore mass ks as required, checked you in with the NHS tracing app and were observed cleaning down tables etc. Would definitely revisit - with or without...
