Bosphorus Meze & Mangal — Restaurant in Huntingdonshire

Shocking.... Like proper shocking! So many people have recommended this place to me but I was extremely disappointed. Was seated upstairs which was nice but the music was so loud we could barely hold a conversation without having to shout. Had been seated for a good 10mins and a table of 6 were then seated behind us, and their drinks order was taken almost straight away!! The waiter then came over to out table after delivering the table of 6 drinks and said to us "what you wanting?" I said drinks would be a start but we are ready to order everything. Starter turned up which was pretty quick and actually nice, unfortunately it was the only thing that was nice.... Mains then turned up before we had even got half way through the starters, and the waiter just moved our personal belongings out of the way.... HELLO... Covid-19!! DONT touch MY belongings. After dinner, which was a massive let down, chicken was dry, lamb was chewy, and the "Side Salad" was just a shredded carrot and lettuce leaf. Waited a further 15 mins with empty glasses and finished plates on the table and I had to eventually call the waiter over and ask for the bill. He then turned up with the bill and the card machine. The card didn't work on the first pass at the contactless and the waiter went to take my card from me as if to imply that I had done it wrong, I refused to give him my card and said that I was perfectly capable and that I would put the card In myself as I'm not overly keen on people touching MY card without permission, the machine lost signal so he just whipped my card out and wiped it on his shirt and out it back in..... What part of DO NOT touch my card was not understood!? The waiter then got attitude with me when I asked for my cancelled transaction slips from the PDQ machine.

I will NOT be returning and sure as hell will not recommended to anyone.

My friends and I were so looking forward to this evening over the glorious bank holiday weekend however we were baffled and shocked by the way we were spoken to by the staff - more specifically who we think was the owner! My friend received a very unpleasant vegetarian Moussaka and when she requested a change the waiter/owner persisted to tell us that we didn't know what we were talking about because we had probably eaten Greek Moussaka. My other friend who jumped in to defend her was then interrogated by him saying multiple times. "WHERE YOU FROM? WHERE YOU FROM? WHERE YOU FROM?!?" This was so rude and highly intimidating. She refused to tell him where she was from. When we finally got to the end of the meal, the same waiter brought over 4 shots (presumably as a peace offering) however the same friend who he questioned where she was from did not like the spirit offered and politely declined, and instead of offering her something else - turned his back, shrugged his shoulders and drank the shot himself!! SHOCKING SERVICE! Such a shame because all the other waiters were complete sweethearts, what a shame you all have such an...

Never again. Second time coming to this restaurant and it will definitely be my last. Staff are rude, do not follow social distancing guidelines, touched our belongings and moved stuff on the table when bringing our main out even though we haven't finished the starter, wasn't asked if our food was ok, which it wasn't, chicken was dry, portions were too small for the price, basic shredded "salad" on the side with no dressing. Music so loud that could not have a conversation without shouting. Plus party of 6 next to us got their drinks before anyone even came to ask for our order....
