The first time I ate here under the new management, it was fairly quiet, and everything went well. Today, however, I had a very poor experience. The terrace was packed. The drinks were served promptly, and they took note of our food order quickly. We asked a server if we could move to the table behind (40), and she helped us move. About 30 min later, they brought our entrees to our original table (35), and we explained to this waitress what was going on. She said she would make a note in the kitchen. About an hour after they had taken note, our mains hadn't arrived and we asked another waiter, who explained that the chef had our food ready, but they didn't know where table 35 was. Mind you, they hadn't brought any food to any of the tables 35 or 40. He went to the kitchen, which we assumed was to get our food, only to see him go to another table to serve their food. We talked to the manager and explained the situation, to which he only replied "I am sorry, I am so sorry". Our food was nowhere to be found. We decided to leave. When paying, they brought up the whole bill! We of course said that we would only pay for what we had, and he corrected it. All in all, we went in with high expectations after our first experience, and left...

Update: July 2024, still good. Quick service, tasty food, nice people and beer. Update: March 2024 Nice welcome and the dining area is pleasant. The prompt service asking for our drinks order was good, but overall, service was just a bit too quick - I understand that they want to move covers through, but if you're dining out for pleasure, it's nice to have thinking time and not dash through the process. The menu is extensive, but includes a lot of dishes that work well from frozen. Plenty of fish choices and a pub grub/Italian vibe so plenty of yummy things to choose from. The cheese burgers are good, not chewy, well seasoned and nice garnish. The lamb shank was generous and tasted great. The cod was somewhat over-cooked, but still tasty. The beer selection here is now great if you like a session bitter - Greene King IPA and Timothy Taylor makes a hard decision, but a nice problem to have. Sensible prices make it easy to return, no need to wait for a special occasion. Will definitely return sometime soon. Previously: Nice, good value food with a decent selection of beers. The fish pie and cottage pie are...

A Lovely Evening at The Bridge House, St Neots……

We had the pleasure of dining at The Bridge House in St Neots last night, and it was an absolutely delightful experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, perfect for a relaxed evening out.

What really stood out was the exceptional service. The staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. It’s always a joy to be looked after by a team that clearly takes pride in their work and cares about the customer experience.

As for the food – it was fantastic. Every dish we ordered was beautifully presented, full of flavour, and clearly made with fresh, quality ingredients. Whether you’re in the mood for something hearty or something a bit more refined, the menu offers a great variety, and everything we tried was delicious.

A huge thank you to everyone at The Bridge House for making our evening so enjoyable. We’ll definitely be back – and we won’t hesitate to recommend it to friends and family looking for a great meal out...

Went to this establishment with a friend who had 3 pints. I was drinking tap water as I don’t drink alcohol, I was designated driver, and it was a hot day (27 degrees). When my friend went to get their third pint, they asked for a second glass of water for me, to which he was denied by the man serving at the bar. The bartender said I wasn’t allowed anymore tap water and that I had to buy a drink or food. It was explained that I wasn’t hungry and I don’t drink, yet they refused to budge. It’s a breach of alcohol license in England and Wales to refuse tap water to customers. Update: Since leaving a review that detailed the experience we received, the owner has breached my privacy and contacted me on social media to intimidate and slander me. Very disappointing and unprofessional behaviour from a business owner.

Perfect location along the river..however not quite the perfect pub. Joined for lunch when I thought it'd be less than rammed but we still wasn't able to seat in the "eating" area and had to be seated outside. Not the biggest issues as it wasn't raining, but it was a bit windy and it's was one of those get-your-own cutlery setups which are fine however on this occasion where not in the most accessible location or in the most pristine condition. Food arrived later than ideal, smaller than ideal and more expensive that it should have been but was otherwise pleasant. Good selection of drinks if you like cider, plum ale was nice but couldn't drink more than a pint. Overall, need a bit of polish I'd say. Would have given it 3 stars but the sign on the wall made me laugh so went for 4!

Great location, attentive staff but unfortunately the food is dire. King prawn starter in a gelatinous sauce, including one still containing the “poop chute”, the most overcooked lamb chops I have ever had the misfortune to encounter and very doughy batter on the fish main course, along with undercooked chips. The food came out way too quickly to have been freshly prepared. This is precisely why you should avoid establishments with large menus… However we will happily return for drinks overlooking the river
