Nawab Lounge — Restaurant in Huntingdonshire

I called the Nawab mid week to ask if they did takeaways Sunday lunchtime.Their answer was yes. Brilliant I thought as it was my mums 23rd wedding anniversary and family were travelling far and wide including London Nottingham Lincoln and Milton Keynes. Nawab opens at 12:30 so promptly we made a list from the menu over £250 worth of food....Two of us went in person to order, we got into the restaurant before 1Pm. My wife had the list tucked in her bag, we said we had come to make an order for takeaway. No no he said rudely.Come back at 4:30 he said. We explained that we had come from far and wide and it was mums anniversary."Can you help us out please? "we asked... At 4:30 was the reply.. This is the second time I was rude to by this restaurant.There food is great but twice the service has been poor. Why open 12:30 to 2:00 during lunch and not advertise you have a cut off for serving ...There was know one in the restaurant so were not busy just rude. We found another Indian restaurant that was willing and more than able ,on longsands road. Iv always told others of the good food, now I will be telling them the food is great but the service is poor. They might serve you depending on how they feel. If I were you I'd look else where for your food ,like I will be...

Ok, so we went to this restaurant because we heard good things and decided to celebrate our friend's birthday here. The food overall was good but the lamb was horrible and very chewy in the lamb biriani.. It tasted like rubber. So please do not order anything that contains lamb in it. So overall the food was acceptable but the service was shockingly awful! The staff were very rude and they made me feel like they don't care! they were pushing everyone just to make space for themselves to go through and the language and tone that they were using was unacceptable. When we complained to the manager (not sure if he was the owner or not), he tried his best to defend the staff and after trying to calm him down and calm everyone down, he decided to give one bottle of house wine for free as an apology which I think it was nice of him.

Overall: apart from the rude staff, very noisy atmosphere and chewy lamb (which maybe it was just that day) I would say the food is ok.

Would I recommend it? I am not sure if I am honest.. I would say try it why not! and maybe the staff now have been educated how to talk and treat customers with manners by...

I usually love going to this place because of the food and atmosphere. Last night was a disaster, they could not handle a 20 table bachelor party along with the rest of the restaurant. It was so loud that I could not hear what my husband was saying to me.

We came in and they asked us to wait 10 minutes for a table. We were waiting when a couple who just walked in got seated before us and then we were taken to our table a minute later.

The service was very poor last night. I just could not understand why!! As there were enough waiters for each table, yet it was utter chaos. The management was poor, they should've assigned 2 waiters just for the 20 table bachelor party. Had to wait ages to order, for the food to show up and also to pay the bill.

I usually have a great time at this place but last night was an absolute disaster. Frankly I don't think I would be going back to this place...
