Bella Napoli — Restaurant in Ipswich

I’m a regular so I took my sister there first the first time because the service is good, food great however, I was very disappointed. Firstly when the food came out the pasta was cold. The owner refused to believe me so I said to him feel the pasta it’s cold, the plate and sauce was hot but I didn’t come out for a meal to have cold pasta. Eventually he agreed to heat it. I was eating chicken grill had a couple of bites then I found a eye lash on my plate, so I took the plate to the owner and said I would pay for my sisters meal and my daughter’s and drinks however I am will not pay for mine due to the lash being on my plate and now it’s put me off my food altogether. No apology or no sympathy instead he said I did this on purpose. I was mortified!!! I told him to look at the cameras but not to make accusations without knowing the truth it’s not right! Why would I do this on purpose if I’m a regular customer? The owner said I wouldn’t have to pay for the meals just to leave and not to come back again. I couldn’t believe it!! We had an amazing morning shopping for Christmas and then decided on Bella napoli for a spot of late lunch at around 3.30pm. On arrival myself and 3 children were hoping to sit by the window which had more distance between the tables (given it is a horrible time with the pandemic) to our dismay, she (lady in the headscarf) seated us against the pillar and another table seating 4 people. The space was very tight. I felt we were invading not just privacy of another couple but also not keeping to the government guidelines of social distancing. I asked if we could move and she refused. On the other side of the restaurant on a round table which seats 6 people were a couple only. When I questioned how can a two people sit on a six person table and myself and children squash up against a pillar and another table when there were 3 more 6 seater tables vacant. She responded with "its upto me, I dont have to explain to you, if you don't like it don't come here as we have enough customers" this was utterly disgraceful from a female staff calling herself the manager. We discovered Bella Napoli whilst holidaying in Suffolk. We were really pleased to find an authentic independent Italian restaurant and was very impressed with the extensive choice on the menu, it was very hard to pick what to go with as so many dishes I wanted to try! In the end my partner and I both opted for a pizza over pasta; he went with a pepperoni one and I went with a create your own with chicken, pepperoni, onion and basis. There was lots of toppings to choose from. When the food arrived it looked delicious and it tasted really good. There was plenty of flavour to it and the ingredients seemed really fresh, the pepperoni slices were stand out! They were both very reasonably priced too at around £10 each which is cheaper than most other pizza restaurants, even chain ones which are not as good! There were 3 sizes to choose from.
