Ok food, high prices, awful customer service
I've been here a few times now, and it's reasonably consistent. The food ranges from mediocre to good, depending on your luck, but all of it will cost about as much as you could feasibly charge for each thing.
The place is already looking a bit grubbier and shabbier than when they opened, but what really lets them down is the customer service.
You're quickly told to find a table before coming back to order, which makes you feel like you can't actually look at what you might order first. Today, I ordered a few things. They often bring things over to the table, but I was told to wait to take some of it over. No problem. However, I reached for a tray to help me bring them over (these are stacked within easy reach, like in other cafes) but I was bizarrely and abruptly told off, and told that customers must not use trays. I asked whether they thought it was better that I juggle four separate plates, and they told me that they "weren't insured" for customers to carry trays. You'd think an insurer would prefer that to customers carrying breakable objects, but what do I know? It was frankly odd, both in terms of how rude they were, and how they expect you to psychically deduce the special rules they have just to order some coffee and cake.
Honey and Harvey simply isn't so good that they can be unapologetically rude to customers, charge high prices for ok-ish food, and expect people...
Read moreNo no no. Very wrong attitude to run a public service. Customer service is unacceptable🧏🧏. Walked in and ordered food and drink in a most polite manner. Sat down, coffee served. they brought card machine that payment was declined. I tried all my cards. Even with pins uncountable times. Then was summoned to the till. Tried again!! then the man said oh I will my other machines. Straight the payment went thru with the other machine. now I have been embrassed, calling me to the till, leaving my hot drink behind. For NO fault of mine. NOT even a word of apology from anyone of them. NOT by mistake word of apology. Back to my table. I requested for a cup of hot water (now cold coffee) nothing came. Nothing. I called on another staff. 2 spoons of hot water was reluctantly DROPPED in my front. (Half milk jug of hot water) with the worst attitude ever. Even after I made mention that I have waited for her colleague to bring the hotwater. No word of apology. By the way, they were not busy at the time. I am SORELY disappointed to say the least. Now I have left the burger half eaten. Coffee not drank. Hot water not touch. I paid £11.50 for a filthy attitude this morning. I am vexed. 1star is the least, that's why it's there. They do not deserve...
Read moreHaving visited on two occasions and both times encountering things that aren’t ideal, I have to confess that it sadly doesn’t match up to the standards that the Woodbridge one does. The first visit the coffee was absolutely vile, it was incredibly bitter and tasted like nothing I have tried before - I am usually a fan of a sweeter milder coffee so thought perhaps their coffee was just too strong for me, however on the second visit the coffee was absolutely fine so put the first visit down to a barista issue. The second visit we struggled to find a table that wasn’t still dirty, loaded with dirty plates spillages etc, when we did find a table and ordered the tea came out with a dirty cup and plate, and then the pastries were really dry. It was just disappointing as every visit to the Woodbridge branch always exceeds expectations and we were really happy when the Ipswich one opened. Hopefully, in the future if we do try again the visit may be more positive especially as this branch is still relatively new so these may just be teething problems. Despite the issues we encountered everyone we have spoken to has been very friendly...
