I will not be returning to this outlet, which is very disappointing as I’ve always been a big fan of Love Thy Burger. Sadly, this location completely failed to deliver on both food quality and hygiene.
The first issue was the wait time. With only three groups in the restaurant, our food still took more than 40 minutes to arrive, and when it finally did, it wasn’t even served hot. Burgers should be fresh, hot, and appetising — but ours lacked both flavour and quality. They fell far short of the standards I’ve come to expect from Love Thy Burger, tasting more like something from a cheap café than the brand I normally enjoy.
What really ruined the experience, however, was the complete lack of hygiene. While waiting, I observed the two staff members working that evening. One was smoking outside, both were seen going in and out of the bathroom, and both ate food with their fingers. None of them washed their hands before returning to cook, serve, or handle money. This is an absolute red flag in any food establishment. Unfortunately, I only noticed these things after we had already started eating and paid — otherwise I would have walked out without touching the food.
To make matters worse, the menu was confusing. There seemed to be two versions: a “greasy spoon” style menu alongside the regular Love Thy Burger menu. We ordered from the classic menu, expecting the same taste and quality we’ve always enjoyed at other branches, but what arrived was bland, poorly presented, and completely underwhelming. It did not reflect the brand at all.
Overall, this visit was a major disappointment. Poor food, unacceptable hygiene, and a general lack of care made this one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in some time. For a brand I normally rate highly, this outlet simply doesn’t meet even the most basic standards. Extremely sad, and not somewhere I could...
Read more3 years ago I gave this four stars... I went back here with my daughter recently, and it's lost 2 start on the way.
At 1330 on a Sunday we were the only.customers. We sat down at a table, and fairly immediately stuck to it. The surface was very tacky. We both ordered a burger and a drink (my daughter had a milkshake and I had a soft drink). The total was £23... This has got to be an amazing burger for £23! Last time it was, but the menu has changed, and the vegetarian option I had raved about, had been replaced.
I was disappointed with the size of the meal and the taste.
I had to get up to get cutlery, which, once I collected it, was still greasy and had pieces of food still on them.
We've enjoyed LTB in the past, but won't be back.
Staff were pleasant, but the only interaction we had was to be told we could sit anywhere, order and leave. They seemed more interested in chatting amongst themselves or going outside to play on their...
Read moreA few months ago I would’ve given this place a 5* review all round and used to visit there quite often… now however, after visiting yesterday it has changed and not for the better! Additionally to the usual menu, they now have a new one with different meals on from a breakfast to a roast (which judging by the changes to the other things in the shop, I’d imagine will be cheap and basic!). The burgers they are serving now are in a sesame seed bun and not brioche. The sauces are cheap, ketchup used to be Heinz and is now some cheap red, tomato flavoured liquid! The drinks are not real cola but some cheap version. It seems like they are not promoting the Love Thy Burger menu in here anymore, instead wanting to promote a different one. This is not a cheap place to eat and with the current changes, I’m afraid we shall not be...
