Masha of India — Restaurant in Ipswich

Ordered through the website. Not up the standard that was previous. Negatives were, we ordered 6 poppadums, paid for mango chutney, and onion salad. Only got 1 small tub of mango chutney to share between 4 of us? Onion bhajis were rock hard. On the mains our relative ordered chicken tikka masala (he is a chef), he stated that it was really bland with hardly any spice in it at all. I ordered my usual tandoori chicken, this was the very first time ordering from Masha that I didn’t get red fingers from eating the tandoori chicken. This would mean that they have changed the tandoori paste that they put on the chicken, very little flavour. Cutting back on spices again I think probably to save money. Prices had gone up tremendously but I can understand that due to the circumstances. Positives were that the butter chicken was exactly as it had been previously, rice was lovely and fluffy, although pilau rice had no red bits in it ( I have always noticed these before). The building has seen better day, it looks shabby both inside and outside... the tables, chairs are functional, you are not getting great comfort.

The staff were exactly what I wanted, they were there when I wanted them, and they ignored me at all other times.

The menu is full of traditional English Indian meals, which you will recognise without issue.

They were very good, letting me decide when to start cooking the next course, there was absolutely no rush.

Every course was presented nicely, and was well spice with lots of texture, I ordered the chicken madras, and it was nice, but could have been a little hotter for my liking. So, I think this is the kinda of place you go back to a couple of times before you get the perfect heat level. But, the food was very tasty and good portions.

If you are looking for fancy decoration, attentive staff and really posh food this is not for you, if you want good tasty food at sensible prices, then I say...

Total shambles. You completely failed to deliver our order. Despite handling the delivery yourself, you claimed not to have my number (which was obviously provided). You failed to approach hotel reception to deliver, despite claiming the contrary, as confirmed by the reception staff. You claim Just Eat called and this is also untrue. Nobody called at any time. You then when called said you don't know how the system works and can't get the order cancelled or refunded, suggesting I should have to contact them because you messed up. You then said you were too busy to assist, even though I was a customer who at that point was waiting two hours....
