The cafe itself is aesthetically pleasing. Nice place to sit down and have a conversation with friends.

The food served here on the other hand is just horrible. Granted their all-english breakfast was OK, but the mushrooms were too dried up. Their hot pot (listed as their SPECIALTY) just tasted bad. It was too watery, the potatoes had no taste in them, the meat was lacking, and the overall presentation just looked ugly. To be honest, do not like items on the menu as your specialty, if you're not good at it.

The elderly missus serving us at the cash register wasn't too friendly at the beginning when we ordered our food. Whether she had something on her mind I do not know. Me and a friend eat here probably once a month for breakfast. Always get the full one so can't comment on the other meals available. So the breakfast. First of all it comes with a latte if you like which is nice. You can sub any of the items for something else. Bacon instead of tomatoes, yes please. For the money it's not bad. The sausages are those cheap catering breakfast sausages and the bacon and can be quite salty at times. The eggs are usually runny though. The hash browns are crispy and the black pudding is there at all which is usually an extra at a lot of places. Comes with beans and two slices of toast and mushrooms. Fills you up. This is a very clean and well-kept establishment in Lancaster.
